I interrupted a “meditative walk” through my neighborhood this morning

Turns out it was being led by one of my new neighbors who I’d never met.
Needless to say she and her group were not real thrilled, yet were peaceful. She asked my name and that of the other neighbor with me.
Am I about to get canceled?

So my neighbor was out and noticed people he didn’t recognize writing at certain points in the street, asked me to check it out with him. There was “drain” drawn in front of a water drain in someone’s yard. “Go” in front of a mailbox. So we’re thinking maybe these folks are drawing a plan for the group coming in behind them (I know, I know, big leap).
We stopped and asked one of them if we could help them and she shushed us. Then said talk to her, she lives here, and pointed to a girl about 50 yards ahead
from there it was the whole thing that we interrupted their meditative walk and what were our names and they’re only writing in chalk so it’s not gonna stay on the street. So we explained that we have children in the neighborhood and we are just concerned that we did not recognize you all and just wanted to see what’s up.
That was it. Kind of a motley crew, in these times you can’t be too careful.

Apparently it’s something you do in a relatively small, close-knit subdivision where kids, dogs, family are out on a Sunday morning doing yard work, riding bikes… nothing at all against such a stroll, but perhaps some other place like in the middle of the woods would offer a better chance of success?

I don’t think it’s wrong to ask what’s up in a weird situation... but a hell of a lot of people get carried away with minding other peoples business. No idea if that’s the case here but I’d encourage you to think about the “can’t be too careful” idea.
