Not overly enthused, but I'll give it a watch just to confirm whether or not he still sucks at movie making.

Crazy how great he started and where he is now.

His final film will be the greatest movie ever made and you’ll realize his entire career was actually its own movie with its own twist (the twist being he’s actually the greatest filmmaker of all time we just never knew)

I actually think its the opposite.

He is an incredible film maker. So much in fact that the he can take a stupid idea and for 90% of a movie make it feel like you are watching something great. I think people get pissed because his stories dont live up to the promise of his film making.

Now i for one am not one of those people for the most part. But haters of The Village cannot honestly argue that the film isnt super well done. They just despise the payoff.

My only problem with The Village was MNS inserting himself as Basil Exposition.

Again, i dont even have a problem with that.

I brought that movie up because i think its incredibly made. The coloring, mood, pacing, everything. ANd people still hate on the plot. I just think its a great example of the people that hate on MNS definitely should not be hating on him as a film maker.

I think MNS is a fantastic filmmaker from a production/execution standpoint. He's not a great writer and he's generally terrible at payoffs.

I'll give him the credit that I legitimately think The Happening was playing for b-movie style laughs.

He fell for his own hype HARD. His ego is apparently enormous, and was even worse 15 years ago after 6th Sense.

That’s similar to Signs a little bit. People love to hate on that one and they think it’s stupid, or a shitty alien movie, or make fun of it for the ending. And they are all wrong. It’s borderline brilliant and an incredibly good/great movie. The story itself...people seem to miss that the movie itself isn’t about aliens in the least. It’s a movie about faith (or more specifically, finding your lost faith). And it’s genius.

MNS has made some clunkers but he’s made some great movies too.

This one looks like it’s back up his alley. I hope it’s good because the concept is terrifying.

I watched The Lady in the Water a couple of weeks ago thinking I'd laugh at one of the worst movies ever made. It's weird and obviously not for everybody but I love the atmosphere he creates and the "wtf is going on" mood. I just have fun with his films and don't pick them apart like it's Kubrick or some shite

I chuckled when I saw the pregnant girl.

That's the underlying problem with Night, what he thinks is terrifying is often just laughable.

Notice how they left out most of his clunkers in the description of his bio?

They didn't say from the producer/director of The Happening or The Devil.

Unbreakable
Sixth Sense

The Village
Signs

Split
The Visit

Lady in the Water
The Happening
