Watched it last night. It was better than the graphic novel, though that doesn’t say much.

The police officer part bothered me as well. Guess he was really in the right place right time but that’s not how these things work in real life. They could have just said he was something more than just a LEO and it might have worked.

Another thing that bugged me is the intelligence of the children seemed to increase to normal adult even missing out on all that schooling and life experience. I get that they tried to make the children especially precocious from the beginning but still.

Weirdly, I also watched this yesterday. It wasn't overly good but I didn’t hate it at all (which I expected to after I had heard it was bad). There were a lot of issues with it obviously, but all in all I enjoyed it well enough. I did like that it was apparently a naturally occurring thing and they were using it as a testing site for medical research. That was cool that ultimately it was an “overall good/for the greater good” kind of thing.

unused Twilight Zone episode

Man, you hit the nail on the head — it was a bad Twilight Zone episode. Lousy acting, awful dialogue.

Just watched it. Kept me interested. That’s about all the good I can say. Acting was terrible. Old black lady was so annoying, I was so happy when she died.

I watched it over the weekend...well, I saw about 90 percent of the movie. Anyway, I was underwhelmed. As with a lot of Shamalamadingdong's movie, the script was bad. His characters talk...for the lack of a better word...weird. Sometimes they just don't say or sound like how someone in a particular situation would talk. The black psychologist lady was annoying as frick. People are dropping dead and she wants to form a group circle so everyone can express their feelings. I like Rufus Sewell so I thought he did his character well.

One question I don't recall being touched on in the movie. If their bodies are aging and changing at a rapid pace, how did they not starve to death, or die from dehydration? I remember when the baby died moments after being born, someone said something along the lines of it aged too fast for its needs to be met. Wouldn't that have happened to all of them?

They addressed this with the kids. Since their body’s are growing they require a massive amount of food/nutrients than the adults. They said the adults don’t really grow and therefore do not need nearly as much food as younger people.

The baby died because over the course of like the 10 secs it was alive like two weeks passed in aging and it hadn’t been fed or nursed so it died of negligence.

But haters of The Village cannot honestly argue that the film isnt super well done. They just despise the payoff

I love The Village and Signs. Both managed to creep me out the first couple of viewings. They’re just better-made, feature length Twilight Zone episodes and I appreciate them as such

Figured there would be a thread up since this dropped on HBOMax recently. I watched it yesterday. I am always worried when I watch an M Knight flick. I know if it ends up like The Happening or After Earth I am going to be pissed.
This one was ok. Just ok. Not horrible. Liked the premise and story and the twist was ok. What really hurt the movie was the actors. They were all pretty horrible. The little boy as he got older was especially horrible.
What I did like.......the name Mid Sized Sedan. That is great. I have to believe in some other parallel universe that Upgrayedd and Mid Sized Sedan would have been friends.

Yeah, I couldn't get over the fact that his name was fricking Mid-Sized Sedan. I busted out laughing every time they said it.
