*spoiler*
A few families from a resort go to a secluded beach recommended by a resort.
Something about the rocks makes time act differently on the beach. People age 1 year every 30 minutes.
The reveal is that a medical research company runs the sham resort and gets a bunch of different people with debilitating diseases to go to the beach after giving them a welcome cocktail which is really an experimental medicine.
The beach allows them to get a lifetime worth of research about the drug in roughly 1 day.
There is a lot of things that happen including a 20 minute gestation period between 6 year olds
The plot hole that drove me crazy is that they go out of the way to explain that the reason hair and fingernails don't grow is because the magic rocks only effect living cells. Then why the frick do dead bodies decompose in a matter of hours?!? That was part of how they discovered how fast time was passing.

He is an incredible film maker. So much in fact that the he can take a stupid idea and for 90% of a movie make it feel like you are watching something great. I think people get pissed because his stories dont live up to the promise of his film making.
That's like a runner, running a record pace, but tripping just before the finish line. He still lost.
MNS relies so heavily on the "twist" that everyone knows one is coming. He could really blow peoples minds if the movie just ended without a twist.
He had earned back a lot of good will with Unbreakable & Split then he just wiped his arse with it all in Glass.

This movie was solely worth it for the eldest daughter being in a bikini for half the movie starting when she aged up to like 20.

Yeah, the part where she grew up but was still in an 11 year olds bikini drew a chuckle.
Don't worry, she's 21 irl.

It was a very strange dynamic to work through in my head

That’s one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard.

Good Lord, the synopsis for this movie sounds even worse than the shitty graphic novel from which it was adapted.

Affect
Sorry, school pet peeve. They are the most commonly confused words.
Like infer, imply...infamous, famous. Disinterested, uninterested.

You will be. I saw it because I have the AMC subscription plan and need to see at least two movies a month to justify keeping it. This was a stinker. Dialogue and plot were both absurd and laughable at points. On the bright side, early in the film you get to see a very nice bare arse from a blonde skinny dipper. My advice is to just get up and leave after that because you have arrived at the high point of the movie and it is all downhill from there.

Incorrect
The beach was basically sitting on and adjacent to magnets and they attributed the magnets as what caused the physical aging. Equally as stupid though
Anyway, this movie was awful. The way that the doctor dies was pretty cool and they had two gorgeous women, the woman in the beginning, and the doctors wife. But that was pretty much the only good things about the movie. I really wish they would’ve expounded on how the kids’ mental capacity was able to evolve as their physical aging evolved. Because I don’t think they ever touched on that at all. You have a six-year-old and an 11-year-old who by the end of the movie are in their 40s, and are able to rationalize like 40-year-olds

Wow that sounds awful. M Night is a master at advertising. It did look creepy but maybe it’s because it has that same actor from Hereditary and his expressions in the trailer brought back memories of that creepy movie.

So do they all die? What’s the end about?
Posted on 7/26/21 at 6:11 pm to dallastiger55
All but the two kids from the main family. They escape through some coral tunnel that is never mentioned until they figure out to escape through it and are able to leave.
They blow the lid off the whole thing.

The trailer makes me think i just saw the whole movie except for the stupid twist at the end.
