WTF would you watch SNL just because Elon was on? Hoping your Doge coin was going to hit $1? That dude is weird AF and not funny.

Well this will be an unpopular opinion, but I still like it

Granted, I dvr it and watch it about 30 min behind and fast forward through the shitty sketches. But there are normally a couple good sketches, the shorts are usually good, and weekend update is funny.

Then you’re dumb or a brainwashed lunatic who views this as church. Go look at Norm’s Update and get back to me if these jokes are nearly as bit as clever his were. Any joke as good as this?

quote:

Standing outside a New York City courtroom this week, Paula Jones was berated by passing New Yorkers who called her names such as “slut” and “whore.” Observers say the situation grew even worse when the crowd realized who she was.

Of course there aren’t. Sorry I look at anyone who finds SNL funny as either really stupid or they don’t know the definition of funny.

SNL has always been pretty far left. The difference is it wasn't just about politics, and when they did do political stuff it was with humor and not just nastiness.

You're judging it by the wrong standard. It's a lobbying show for the DNC, not a comedy hour anymore.

They're telling you how to vote, not trying to make you laugh.

shite, they’re worse than that. They advocated that people burn down their cities if the Chauvin verdict wasn’t what they wanted since they have insurance.

But this is the funniest it's been in a long time. Trust me.

Didn’t watch tonight because of the fight, but from the little bits I’ve seen recently, the writing actually has gotten better. Just not a great cast.

Can't remember the last good skit. Probably the Jim Carrey Lincoln commercials. I don't even like Jim Carrey but they were good.

I’m on a Norm, but is there anything as good as this in really years been said on that program:

quote:

Well a sad story from the world of entertainment this week, actor Bob Bell better known to millions as Bozo the Clown has died at the age of 75. Commenting on his passing President Clinton said “You know for 50,000 dollars he could be buried next to JFK.”

Some of the best skits have come from SNL in the last 30 plus years.

One thing that’s guaranteed is how there’s a thread about SNL not being funny since______(you were 16-24yo) every weekend. This has been a weekly topic literally for as long as I can remember.

The only things I've watched from that show since the days of Eddie Murphy are videos on u-tube about "Black Jeopardy", the Jeopardy skits with "Sean Connery" and those alien abduction ones where 3 people relate their experiences and 2 of them are totally enlightened and the one gal (Kate something or other) relates a totally different experience.

That shite has me in stitches most of the time.

Let's face it, in today's PC world, the old skits used when that show first came on would never be aired.

People actually had senses of humor back then and found a lot of stuff funny, not looking to be offended at every turn.

It’s got too much of the wrong kind of politics. They could be having a field day with Biden and Harris skits but nope.

The 1st SNL I ever saw was the Debut of The Blues Brothers. Steve Martin was a recurring guest host hot off his "Get Small" routine.

That's not even his greatest line.

His best was the show right after the OJ verdict. He opened Weekend Update with this:

quote:

Breaking news this week: Murder is now legal in the state of California.

He got fired for being relentless on OJ and taking every chance he could to stab home the fact that he killed his wife.

The next President of NBC happened to be a friend of OJ's and Norm got fired less than a month after the guy took over.

Greatest talk show appearance ever - I talked to a guy who said I was fired

And your problem with this is? People on your side typically try to doxx and ruin people's lives. We just choose not to participate and financially support people.

If comedy is to be funny, it has to be apolitical. It takes on all comers and skewers them with equal effort. SNL actually used to do this and was quite enjoyable. But it long ago abandoned that premise and became a mouthpiece for one team. Pretty pathetic actually. Just screeching into the darkness.
