It looks like businesses have to register themselves for it.

I’m sure there’s little chance that it will backfire.

I mean if we're picking soul-food restaurants this will be handy

I was just in Chattanooga and we wanted to go to a cigar bar, so my wife googled the highest rated cigar bar and it lead us to the ghetto. We walked in and it was like that scene from Animal House. We were the only white people there and they sure were shocked to see us

I think google is giving you results for black owned businesses whether you request them or not.

Came here to post exactly this.

I've looked up the ones in my area and know where I won't be doing business.

If there was a function showing which minority business owners looked at the option and said "nah, frick that. My race doesn't matter, only my service or product", I'd use them in a heartbeat.

Where is the Hispanic owned feature? I'd like that to find a quality Mexican restaurant.

I use DuckDuckGo and don’t interact with Google in my day to day life

But seriously, wtf has happened to this country. I know we're all getting use to the bullshite but how many election cycles will this crap work on the idiots in this country

I remember Larry Elder coining the term "Victicrat" what seems like 25 yrs ago now. Trump absolutely Brinks trucked the black community and they still hated him

Does it tell you if the business owner had to opt in for it?

White man being pushed out.

We all were taught this in the 80s, but thought it would be naturally evolutive, not psycho South Africa (where the whites weren't the overwhelming majority).

What about the Christian-owned businesses that put the little fish (ichthys) in their ads? Or the stores that have a rainbow flag decal on the window?

I mean, why not make it mandatory to put the owner’s race on literally everything? White owned, black owned, Asian owned, Jewish owned, Indian owned, Latino owned, etc.? And not just on Google, but on the signage of the store itself? Like, paint it on the windows with white paint. We could have our own police force that could go around enforcing this. They could wear brown shirts, and become very efficient with it. This sounds like an awesome idea!

I'm all for wanting to support black businesses. I desire to see more black business owners, as that is a way of decreasing the wage gap where black folks are at the bottom of the totom poll.

At the same time, I will not patronize a business simply because they are black owned. They have to be professional and offering a quality product/service as well.

I think google is really just doing people a favor. If you follow the internet news much, you see stories sometimes about black cooks spitting in white peoples food at restaurants. Now if you're not familiar with the area, you know which restaurants and neighborhoods to avoid.

It's actually the mainstream media and big tech like google, facebook, and twitter that's hurting blacks. Most whites in my city like blacks fine. But msm and big tech are the ones calling us racist. I guess b/c of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. What percentage of people is actually going to look for a black owned business to spend at, just b/c google says they are black?

Completely ignore that shite. If some place has great food at a reasonable price. That’s where I’m headed. I could give a shite what color the owner is.
