I see this a lot: "they recommended low fat diets and everyone got fatter so low fat diets don't work". Totally ignoring the fact that although low fat diets were recommended Americans actually increased their consumption of fats (mostly added oils).

I read it. I hate all this fad diet shite. Eat carbs, protein, fats, etc in MODERATION along with exercise and you'll guarantee losing weight. I like ice cream and I'm not going to stop eating it so I eat it in moderation and exercise the calories away.

These xyz is bad diets are ridiculous.

Then make that argument. As presented the argument is misleading.

Exactly this. A great way to appear to be an idiot.

Taubes is a hack. The carb-insulin model has been debunked time and time again.

There are some merits to keto but it is not magic and it's not all-healing.

I don’t know who Gary Taubes is but I’ll bet good money he’s 250+

He’s not at all but he is a keto baw so he’s still insufferable. But he’s definitely not one of those pro being fat people so it shows who didn’t read anything in Op. Taubes was one of the first anti sugar crusaders. He takes it to an extreme level with his keto hormone shite though.

no you don’t or you wouldn’t have posted “how do we stop this shite” and compared it to fat cover models

I’m not a keto guy, but if people should eat less carbs and sugar and not worry so much about fat.

That’s the gist of his argument.

One of my best friends is an MD/Nutritionist and absolutely rails against keto, claiming it's one of the worst fad diets out there. I'm not sure why other than you shitting like a seagull from all the fat and oils.

A lot of Nutritionists intensely dislike keto because of how fervent and ridiculous a lot of the proponents are. Most will also acknowledge that there are some merits to the diet, but you kind of have to disarm them to get that because they are used to fighting the zealots.

i think he is saying that if you eat 1500 calories of carbs versus 1500 calories of no carbs you will be leaner without carbs

Well, statistically speaking, the majority of posters in this thread are either overweight or obese and just in denial about it. But I’m sure they know a ton about nutrition.

There is too much nonsense in this thread to even begin.
