I probably won't be able to afford Popeyes.

1. Businesses fire some entry level folks
2. Cut benefits

Does minimum wage matter to those who don't work?

Prices will rise and a lot of small businesses will fail.
Mandating a $15/hr minimum wage will have a lot bigger impact on a place like Baton Rouge vs Seattle.

More self-automated kiosks

More local businesses will go out of business and fast food restaurants will fire people and send most to part time.

Smaller businesses in struggling areas (such as north Baton Rouge) will probably not be able to afford to pay for all of their employees.
Costs of consumer goods and dining will go up a little bit. Jobs that were held by college kids and teenagers might have a lot more applicants from workers who were employed by companies that had to reduce staff.
Not a big impact to most of Baton Rouge, but the lower income areas on the north side may feel the pain.

More self service checkout lanes, less minimum wage jobs, higher unemployment.

This. The big box stores will adapt and phase out entry level workers, while small business will outright fail.

I don't know man, you'd be doubling the labor costs for most low wage jobs - think convenience stores, grocery stores, fast food etc. Hell, there are a ton of jobs that don't pay 30k per year. I think it would have a major ripple effect on the economy here.

Nothing changes in NBR. Fewer jobs and people taking fewer hours to avoid hitting the “donut hole” where you lose benefits by earning more money.

It completely does, they'll use it to say the cost of living is higher so they'll need more in government benefits.
