Employment at will
Nothing wrong with what the employer did
You want the ability to leave your job whenever you want, then that job has the ability to fire you whenever they want

It’s not anymore complicated than this.
Many of you seem to be missing the fact that legislating which ideals are right and wrong is basically upon us. So no, it’s not that simple

Wait what???... post the stats...people have got killed looting retail stores... anybody who entered the Capitol illegally wasn’t innocent... truth be told the death toll should be much higher

Man works in at will state. Man did something his employer didn’t like. Man got fired. It happens all the time.
Even if I vehemently disagree with the decision, they don’t appear to have done anything against the law.
The simple solution as a consumer is to stop patronizing the business, like the guy in this thread who is canceling his policies from the company.

Check out the poli board thread where they have cops opening the gates and waving the mob in to the building.

Right. Nothing was breached you over dramatic fools. These people were ushered in single file like they were boarding a plane.

How does kneeling equate to storming the Capitol???

In an at will state you can be fired for wearing the wrong colored shirt to work. You must remember the company in this case is looking out for its interest and not the employees. Like it or not it’s business 101.

I think the biggest gripe in this whole saga is selective applications of law, precedent, etc
Fire someone for attending a BLM rally - totally within an employers rights - and holy hell with rain down until that company ceases to exist.

It's kind of the way US labor law works. At-will employment is an employer's ability to dismiss an employee for any reason as long as the reason is not illegal.
Not sure what would be illegal about them firing him. First amendment rights give him the right to protest, but they don't prevent him from being fired from his employer.
Spoken like a true NPC. Who said firing him was "illegal"?

Most insurance companies have ties to Connecticut.
Their corporate offices are hyper insane leftist.

None of what you're stating is so cut and dry.
Can you be fired for starting a fight at work? Of course.
Can you be fired for threatening an employee? Sure.
Can you be fired for questioning a decision? Hmmm.
See? The lines get blurred, the grayer it gets.
The law clearly states employment is safe from gender, religious affiliation, etc.
Hell, even hair styles are becoming a protective status.
So, firing someone for " any reason" isn't so clear.
Otherwise, there wouldn't be a debate now

Amen
The side constantly screaming about equality and oppressive government sure does love to force inequality using an oppressive government.
Diversity of ideas is dead under the guise that it cannot be allowed because uniformity is the only way to be diverse

I don’t disagree that it is legal. However people like us that may disagree with the decision will keep our mouths shut because we understand the law. But when the shoe is on the other foot the laws will be challenged.
This is exactly how we wound up with corporate white re education programs. Meanwhile the small business environment is threatened at every turn and the consolidation into these employers is becoming an inevitability.
The issue at hand is diversification of thought is being actively suppressed by the biggest power groups, both in terms of economic and political power. People have been so conditioned to believe trump is bad they see this as the reckoning and thus justifying those thoughts. In reality, Trump was elected as a challenge to the ruling class, not solely because of his policies. We are seeing BOTH parties trying to squash that. The consequence? These people have ran out of means of voicing their opinions and frustration is bubbling over.

No doubt. And the solution in this instance is to stop buying this company’s product.
