No proof he was part of the rioters. Just present outside peaceful protesting. Guess that’s not allowed anymore if you work for an insurance company. Stay home, stay quiet or else!
If you call Goosehead Insurance, the first thing their voicemail says is that Paul Davis has been fired. Must have had a lot of pressure from the ‘mob’ to cancel this guys life.

Its kind of the way US labor law works. At-will employment is an employer's ability to dismiss an employee for any reason as long as the reason is not illegal.
Not sure what would be illegal about them firing him. First amendment rights give him the right to protest, but they don't prevent him from being fired from his employer.

Yes this is perfectly acceptable. As long as your employer disagrees with your political beliefs, it’s okay to fire them. I can’t think of any reason whatsoever why this would be considered a bad precedent to set.

May the courts of Texas be ever in his favor

Fire someone for being at a planned parenthood rally and see what happens.
I think the biggest gripe in this whole saga is selective applications of law, precedent, etc

I don’t think simply exercising your right to protest should be enough to get you canned, but given the severity of what followed the protest, the company is likely just being safe before video maybe emerges of him inside the capital. Totally agree it’s a bad precedent to set given the lack of evidence that he had anything to do with rioting. Most of the people had already left when shite went down and many condemned what followed. This guy could have been one of them.

I'm canceling all of my goosehead policies Monday

Lol I can be just as irrational as them

How is what he did illegal? He can’t protest? All the liberal that protested last summer wouldn’t be in his shoes even though I’m sure none of them had a job.

the replies to that tweet are sickening. One thing is for sure, if some salon journalistput me on blast like that.... he better keep his head low.

You don't fire people for "could have been" scenarios

This is where they will have a problem.

he said in the video. "We’re all trying to get into the Capitol to stop this and this is what’s happening, they’re tear-gassing us."
Sounds like he tried to enter the Capitol building

Regardless of the legal issues, it is not a very good system where employed people who protest risk being fired while the unemployed riff raff can protest away because they don't have to worry about getting fired.

What if your boss doesn’t like your accent, hair color, gauges, oh or ideas?

We need to call what happened at the Capitol exactly what it was: a genocide.
A peasant touched his member on the sacred desk of our Savior, Nancy Pelosi.

We are seeing what it is going to be like under Democratic rule. You will fall in and do what they say or you will be canceled.

but given the severity of what followed the protest
Which was what? A couple hundred people forced their way in and took selfies in the Capitol, one of them got shot for it and Congressmen were scared?
Seriously the way that so many people are convinced that the events of Monday were some sort of terrorist attack or validate all of the crazy thoughts they have had about Trump and his followers is fricking scary
There is no real documentation of violence that I can find, and 3 of the “rioters” died from “medical complications”. That would be a high number at a hospital in the same timeframe, but we are just turn away, not ask what happened and let those numbers be substantiation for violence.
Meanwhile we are being actively told (by the president-elect no less) to not equate these events to those that happened every day, for months in 2020 in cities across the country.
You might think you are right, but this country is about to explode because one side is using all means necessary to suppress the voice of the other side.

What you are doing is rational. I hope others follow suit.
