Its kind of the way US labor law works. At-will employment is an employer's ability to dismiss an employee for any reason as long as the reason is not illegal.
Not sure what would be illegal about them firing him. First amendment rights give him the right to protest, but they don't prevent him from being fired from his employer.

If he is a lawyer working as Director of Human Resources at his company, he damn well should be able to figure out how to keep from getting himself fired over this kind of shite. I didn’t read the article, but if he feels strongly enough to do this, he likely would have been the first to fire any employee that attended the BLM protests. As long as the company treats everyone the same, I’m okay with it.

My wife’s family came from a place that dealt with the issues of communism. My father-in-law told me stories about how they began to arrest people for having made statements against the communist regime and that companies would willingly give up employees for the sake of getting in the communist parties good graces.
When he first heard of the baker being forced to make a cake for that gay couple, he told me it was beginning here. Of course I didn’t believe him. Well here we are today. We are past the point of arrival, we are in the midst of it. It will get worse and worse.
And I have bad news for all of you, you aren’t voting your way out of this.

No doubt. And the solution in this instance is to stop buying this company’s product.
Or to challenge those authorities in a peaceful way, which it seems the victim of the firing was doing.
Again, I’m not arguing whether or not this guy was legally canned. If it were me I would be proud of it, was not fired because of performance and would gladly discuss with my next employer. This is just a bigger picture issue that people are applying logic selectively, and I’m not sure what the answer is. But the result will be frustration which is being heard

Exactly. This isn’t some crazy hypothetical, it’s upon us. The bad guy used to justify this will soon be gone, but it will only get worse

If a lot of people cancel their insurance plans that would immediately make the company apologize back.
Exactly this.. Plus Goosefart went public about 2 years ago so if a mass exodus occurred their shares would take a hit..
There's also a bigger and better Texas based Independent option... In case anyone needs to move..

Yeah, totally legal. Shitty but legal.

Yes, it would be if your employer received a barrage of calls about, negative press... and you’re a white male who cannot claim “discrimination.” Bye bye.

The side constantly screaming about equality and oppressive government sure does love to force inequality using an oppressive government.
The weird part is that now that the left is in control of these major corporations, they don't need to use the government. They use the powers of these companies to do to you what the government can't.

Once again the other side needs to remember that they are setting precedents that will be used against them on the flip side. Is it Legal to fire him, yes. At will will exist in its current form until firings start to get out of hand or begin to target more specific groups. We will see more protected classes in the future. I’m betting political beliefs will be on deck soon as a new protected class.

There’s no such thing as a “Goosehead” policy. They are an independent broker model.

The Biden administration is about to setup a task force to pile it on Trump supporters by locking them in their homes and making it a crime to run their businesses.
Also, they will be forced to cover their faces in shame when out in public.
This would have never happened if Trump would have got a second term.

Sure, but the problem is that many of the companies still largely need republic money to operate. So again, sure they can do what they want but the response is to stop spending money with them due to their stance.
1000s of calls to cancel their insurance plans next week would shock the company.

They keep trying to cancel everything and put people on blast they will soon start seeing more people fight back and it may be with violence.
