Not saying what police did was right by any means, but give me the details..was it late at night? Was it in a shady part of town? Was he dressed like a thug?

"understand the real problem have not changed"

Yep

Basic 5th grade verb conjugation still evades so many.

Wow..is he a drama major?

"I am sure I would have died.."

Really, your SURE? Or maybe you should say "I was frightened.

I was approached at gun point by a police officer at 2:30 am walking home from a bar, yes it will wake you up to see a gun pointed at you. All I did was follow every direction he gave me and it was all cleared up in 5 minutes. I don't blame him for taking reasonable action to protect his life. He gave me a ride home after that.

Far from it, just the most stereotypical.

To me, the problem is that young black men/women continue to get killed by police. So much so, that they don’t feel safe from law enforcement

Check actual stats, so do white people and other ethnic groups, they just don't bitch about it because they can accept responsibility for their actions.

Or they're just weak. Police killing white people unlawfully is a thing that happens and it is just as appalling.

Azariah Thomas and Ibrie Combs. Those are the names of the two innocent toddlers that were murdered in Baton Rouge in the past three months.

If the majority of the people in this community actually gave an honest damn about the victimization of others by crime this kids tweet would have never gotten this exposure. Instead, we would rather manufacture racism and allege wrong doing when our bravest go out to fight crime and try to keep another toddler like Thomas or Combs from dying.

The greatest racial disparity in Baton Rouge every year is getting murdered. The overwhelming majority of murder victims are people of color. The overwhelming majority of victims shot that survive are people of color. The overwhelming majority of victims of aggravated assault are people of color.

The Baton Rouge Police Department isn’t without sin and there is always room for improvement. They have identified and removed countless bad apples. But if Koy and others like him want to be taken serious, you would hear them speaking out about the countess remorseless criminals that have easy access to high capacity weapons that they indiscriminately use to resolve the pettiest of conflicts.

It’s is finally time to start recognizing the real threats that exists in Baton Rouge. The sooner that happens, the sooner cops will feel supported enough to go out and do the work that lead to less deaths.

I hope this kids tweet starts a real conversation.

Koy seems like a good guy as far as I can tell and I have no doubt he was scared to death by the encounter. But until we learn cops just happened to see a young black guy and assumed for this reason he was a criminal, he wasn’t racially profiled. If he was, then the cops should be fired and/or prosecuted.

I haven’t a clue why it happened, but it’s far more likely he happened to match the description of a suspect and likely an armed suspect. If that’s the case then it’s not racial profiling.

If that is what happened it seems things likely went down exactly as they should have. Sucks he experienced it - and I can only imagine how frightening - but he was apparently investigated without being physically harmed and cleared.

Hopefully, we learn more soon.

Ok let’s assume he is telling the story exactly how it happened, if you actually want to make a change what you need to do is get the officer’s names/badge #’s then file a complaint. If it’s not taken seriously then get your coach involved. Considering the climate we are in today, some action would be taken.

Police officers are human. They have bad days. Bad situations. They make mistakes. This shite does not have to be so hard. All it takes is both sides shutting the frick up, swallowing their pride and compromising.

LET ME BREAK IT DOWN FOR THIS DUMBASS GENERATION! You guys think you have rights to do what the frick you want and there are no consequences for your actions. I bet most of you ASSUMED it was white cops. fricking dumbasses.

At 2 in the fricking morning, your feelings do not mean a frickING thing. The sooner your pussy arse selves get that shite through your skulls, the sooner you realize what police officers do to PROTECT YOUR SORRY ASSES. I dare you to ride along ONE SATURDAY NIGHT frickERS.

How do we know that people don't complain about these situations... We have to let people have their say and let the truth come out... I wasn't there and you where not.
