Where do the Cardinals shift Gorman after getting Arenado?

Everyone apparently thinks the DH is coming to the NL. So he will DH when it does.

I bet he does a few things. DH, 1st and 3rd. Between the 3 that will get him enough reps

I'm hearing gorman will be moved to 2b, hoping it works, and giving them power from the position.

Well see if he can make the move.

Have they officially announced when the season will start yet? Last I heard was MLB and AAA report after the 17th and MiLB has no clue to when they will begin as of yet.

MLB is changing the baseballs “slightly” to control the home run rate in recent years per Rosenthal

You mean the baseballs that MLB totally didn't alter that lead to the totally coincidental spike in home runs? Those baseballs?

quote:

The new ball will be reduced in weight by under one-tenth of an ounce, and will also be slightly less bouncy (as determined by the coefficient of restitution, or COR).  While the end result of these changes won’t be entirely known until we see the baseball in action during the season, the changes seem to have been made in order to “increase consistency in the ball” and also deaden it to some extent.  An independent lab cited in the league memo detailed a reduction by one or two feet of distance on fly balls hit beyond 375 feet, and an analyst who spoke with Sarris and Rosenthal believes “it’ll be like adding five feet of outfield walls to every wall in the big leagues.”  The analyst believes an overall five percent reduction in home runs is possible, though it isn’t yet known how the newer ball will be affected by drag.

MLB and the Players Union are in agreement to continue the 7 inning double headers and the runner on 2nd base in extra innings

I like the 7inning double headers.

Runner on second needs to go though. I’d be pissed as a pitcher to see ERA spikes because of that stupidity. A ground out to the other side and a FO and ballgame.

Hate runner on 2, didn't mind 7 inning DH but they need to remove the 5 inning rule for pitchers on those

It's scored as an unearned run but I can't imagine pitchers love dealing with a runner they didn't put on 2nd base.

They should start the runner on 2nd crap in the 12th or 13th to help prevent the marathon games, but still play at least two normal extra innings. And, it shouldn’t be in the postseason at all.

I’m pretty shocked the players union agreed to the runner on 2nd thing. Figured they hated that

What dumbass rules. The idiotic gimmicks don't make the game more enjoyable. I never dreamed I would miss Selig this much.
