Do you ever perceive anything other than disdain at the Post Office?

I’ve never been to a Post Office and been treated with anything other than an attitude which I can only describe as utter disdain that I’d dare to step foot in there. Most of the time, it’s not “how can I help you?” but rather “you ready?!” And to hell with expecting a response to my “thanks, have a great day!”
Maybe once or twice I’ve experienced indifference. But that’s about as good as it ever gets. On those occasions, my “thank you” was granted a responsive *grunt*.
Any positive experiences you’d like to share of great customer service at the Post Office?

The workers at the two Post Offices I go to in Shreveport are always friendly.
Maybe you just look like an a-hole.

I hear this a lot, but I must be fairly lucky. I don't have to go to the local post office too often, but when I do the service has been helpful and friendly. I was remarking on this to my neighbor just yesterday.
I am an outlier most likely.

They’re super nice where I live. Not particularly in a hurry, but they’re always nice and make sure you get what you need.

The post office on Coursey is totally useless, especially with covid. It's like they're running a mail operation out of a dimly lit shed. The workers do their best to be nice though

Every time I’ve gone tot he post office the workers have been pleasant and helpful. That’s usually because I have my shite together and don’t need my hand to be held through the entire process of mailing a letter

I do lots of business at the post office because of my side hustle. They’re always friendly and helpful. Sometimes you have to wait in a line. Sometimes it’s moving slow because the idiot at the front doesn’t know how to fill out the address label.
The workers at places like that have to be pretty damn patient.

Our main post office in Pineville is this way. Usually long lines and only one person working despite the fact they have four register counters there. I normally just drive to one that’s out of the way by about maybe 10 minutes but I’ve had nothing but good experiences there from the workers. Always in and out in normally less than 2-3 minutes there.

I've had nothing but pleasant experiences at the Prairieville post office. I think their hiring practices and training must be similar to Chick-fil-A.

I have a feeling you were posting this for political virtue signaling points and it backfired. I have never had a problem with the post office, and I don’t think this would be a topic if Trump wasn’t trying to get rid of it.

post office off of College drive is always friendly. Speed is an entirely different conversation though

Probably has a lot to do with where you live.

This 'culture' you describe, I have experienced it. It's out there and real. That being said, my local PO. while I can detect the 'culture' it's not in your face as much. I want live long enough to see it, but I hope the day comes when the USPS no longer exist...in it's present form at least.
ETA. Every work place/company has a culture...not to be confused with "culcha"

I ship a few things now and then. I just walk in, lay the item on the counter and say "i need this boxed up and shipped to the address in the cheapest way possible". I left out the "cheapest way possible" once and the "woman" intentionally made it expensive.
