The workers at the post office in Prairieville are always very nice, courteous, and helpful.

The post office on College Drive is the opposite.

The Post Office is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get.

The previous poster who noted that Post Offices in small towns tend to be friendlier and more proficient is right. Those are good jobs in many rural communities. In larger towns, maybe not so much.

My cousin went to work for the PO after he retired from the military. I had a friend who worked at the same PO. He told me that my cousin was not well liked at the PO. This surprised me because he always seemed to be a very friendly and hard working fellow. My friend said that was the problem. He made everyone look bad and had a good attitude.

Friend,

I receive the most excellent service when I visit the ones on Louisiana and the one in Metairie next to Impastato’s.

I am sad to hear you have not had the same experience. Though I would not suggest the poor service is any fault of your own, have you considered bringing one of the workers a gift or a meal? Small tokens of appreciation have a way of uplifting others, especially those who feel as though they have no purpose or are undervalued by society. This exaltation may lead to friendlier interactions.

Yours,

I worked as a student worker at the LSU post office for a semester. Those were the most miserable people I’ve ever met. It was a horrible job.

There’s two ladies at the downtown BR post office that are so sweet. I love them.

But I agree with you otherwise. Almost always the rudest people. Of course, look at what they deal with all day.

Friend,
I’ve procured one dozen cannolis from Angelo Brocato’s to bring to your funeral. Word on the street is they are Mother’s favorite. I’m glad to see you are alive and well and not shot to death in your beloved CBD today, mere blocks from Meyer The Hatter.
Yours in forgiveness,
TT

I live in a small town now, Post Office here is great.

Seriously, if you are treated with utter disdain every time you go to a Post Office that is probably on you.

Now, the DMV - yeah - the worst people on earth work there.

Any positive experiences you’d like to share of great customer service at the Post Office?

Drove 2 hours to go pick up my grandpas mail for him from his P.O. Box since he’s in the old folks home. Got there and had forgotten which box his was. Shot the shite with the sweet ladies behind the counter and they told me which box was his.

They technically broke the law for me

It's like they're running a mail operation out of a dimly lit shed.

Last time I checked my box I had 6 different boxes mail
The people are nice but they are terrible at sorting mail there

Coursey is hit or miss. The dude in there did make me laugh last time.

Me: Just dropping off

Usps dude: I’m going to need you to pay for that.

Me: No, see right here. I paid for that label already.

Usps dude as he scans it: Look, I need you to pay for it again. I really need my pension.

Really? I’ve never had a negative experience. Our mail carriers are also fabulous people.

My post office experiences are overwhelmingly positive, like most others in this thread. I would say 90+% of the times I’ve had to go to a post office, the folks working there were super friendly. Sure, there are bad apples (or people just having bad days, for that matter). But that’s the case with every business. I would say that, on average, I’ve had much more positive interactions with workers at USPS offices than FedEx or UPS stores.

I would also say that my mailman is friendly as hell and does a great job. UPS/FedEx delivery guys have been hit or miss.

Kind of makes you wonder. Either OP lives by the worst post office in America, or he’s full of shite.
