Just saw on snap a girl I know basically bragging about the fact her and her daughter live at home with her dad.
She screen shot the text exchange

Strangely enough, my nephew who had covid19 and his sister, my niece, have both gotten engaged and moved out during the lockdown......but not engaged to each other.....my family is crazy but not from Arkansas.

Government backed student loans were a bad idea that helped cascade tuition prices out of control and create a bonafide crisis.
Once again, something our government does to level the playing field that sounds good on paper carries unexpected consequences, and now people graduating school are saddled with debt that forces them to put just about everything on hold until they can get out from under it.

I moved out the summer after High Schoola nd never spent a single night at home. My 21 year old daughter is a full time student and lives on her own and my 19 year old son lives with us. I like having him here.

That probably was the case BEFORE the pandemic. In the 1920’s - 1930’s both parents and kids wanted the out of the parental home ASAP. Today we have fricking 30 year olds who still want to be covered under their parents health insurance.
My BIL is 32 and has a professional career. His parents STILL pay his phone bill because his mom babies him and his dad doesn’t realize he’s still paying his 32 year old son’s bills.

While I get your hyperbole, I just want to point out that you can no longer be a dependent on parents insurance past 26.

I don't believe you are my BIL but I'm 32 and my parents still pay my cell bill. It's been grandfathered in for years so its like $10-$20 a month with unlimited text and data for my phone vs if I got my own plan it would be north of $100. Now, I have given my mom money for it, but she technically pays the bills each month.

I blame internet porn. I can’t think of anyone in my circle of friends who wasn’t out of the house summer post HS. The main motivator was pussy.

Friend,
Living with a parent is a wonderful way to save money, increase family ties, and help your elders. At some point, I think the Realtors Association of America made it taboo to live with one's parents past the teen years. It was a grand conspiracy to boost their business, much like De Beers and diamonds. The gullible fell for their ploy and even today insult those who are frugal and deeply love and want to care for their parents by living with them.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

It’ll be tough for him for a while. We only hired one associate this year instead of the usual 4 or 5.
I laughed a little when she was chosen because this board would hate her. Total SJW, preferred pronouns on her resume and her social accounts, and all that. fricking smart as hell though.

So basically what you are saying is that in 10 years she will have blue hair, 20 cats and bitching about "pay gaps" because she wanted to be "woke" and got let go by a handful of firms because of the negative impact it had on the firm all while saying she's oppressed?

I love my parents, but no thanks, I couldn't take that. Not having to pay rent for 2 months sure was nice, but no. My mom wanted me to stay. No way would I even entertain that idea.
I had to move in with my parents after the 2016 flood (36), it was a tough 6 months
I thought I was going to have to go back at the beginning of last year to save money since I was partnering in a new business but I was fortunate enough to not have to do that

Coincides with student loan debt and tuition continuing to rise. I lived with my parents for a year out of college cause the great recession screwed up my job offer. Got outta there quickly tho

According to a Pew Research analysis of government data, 52% of Americans ages 18 to 29 were living with at least one parent in July
52% seems fishy. But I’d suspect a shite load more than usual 18-22/23 year olds were living with their parents in July with the covid shutdowns

analysis found that the number of young people moving back in was largely similar across ethnic groups, gender and between city dwellers and residents of rural areas.
Well at least we know being a loser isn’t limited by ethnicity, gender, or geographical location for this generation.

I thought this Chinese Flu pandemic was “our Great Depression” or maybe it was “our World War II.” That’s what people were calling it. Idiots. Honestly. If you bought into the fear and hysteria, I can’t help you. If you ever washed your food containers or left groceries in your car for days because of the virus, you lack logical thinking.
If you’re a guy and you did any of that stuff, you deserve to live with your parents because emotionally, you are a child.

My high school graduation present was luggage.
