Heard today JBE said any insurance adjusters not from LA had to quarantine for 14 days before working in Lake Charles. Any truth to this.
Also...State Farm insurance sucks. Switch now before a storm hits you.

My experience as well . Parents had Allstate and they sucked, seemed to be the sentiment at the time.

Take this completely for what it’s worth, which is little to nothing.
I hit a deer on Monday and royally screwed up my truck. My adjuster came today to look at it as he’s been handling claims in Lake Charles from storm damage. His completely anecdotal statement was “they’re having a hard time getting out of state adjusters into the state (of Louisiana).”
I don’t know if that means they are making them quarantine but I know for Katrina and Rita they had people from all over. A close family friend got into an argument with his really snotty adjuster from New Jersey about why he refused to allow him access to his crawl space... in south Louisiana. He finally handed the adjuster a shovel and told him “Here. Let me know when you find it. If you hit the water table you’ve gone too far.”

You're a moron if you think state farm doesn't excel after a storm.
Posted on 9/2/20 at 7:39 pm to tigereye58
Highly doubtful, we had a storm in NJ and if my company had adjusters coming in to help the quarantine wouldn't apply to emergency workers

How dumb are you people? Louisiana doesn't have a travel quarantine for anyone. not Electricians, not Lineman, not Insurance Adjusters and not even BLM protesters.

A friend is an independent adjuster and he was instructed to do all of his claims virtually.

I’ve been trying to tell everyone who would listen for years. I used to work for State Farm and they are 100% not the same company they were 10 years ago. They are intentionally trying to underwrite themselves out of Louisiana without pulling out. The 5% hurricane deductible combined with their out-fricking-rageous premiums are comical.
frick them.

Well I’m living through it right now. Friends with adjusters out already. Not a single State Farm client i know has heard from their adjuster. So call us idiots all your want until you actually call them. Hell no they’re not prepared.

What about the one person everyone "knows" who was scheduled to take a covid test at CVS but had to cancel and then three days later they got a call telling them they were positive?

I seem to remember something years ago where an insurance company wanted to quit writing homeowner's policies and the insurance commissioner knocked their dicks in the dirt and told them if they quit writing homeowners, they'd not be allowed to write auto and life policies anymore. Did I just make that up? Was that them?
Posted on 9/2/20 at 8:30 pm to TigerstuckinMS
Well they can write home owners but with 10% of the value of the property as the hurricane deductible. Fortunately I’m not in that boat but I have friends that are.

Probably 50 OTers claimed to know someone that knew someone this happened to, but not a single person ever substantiated anything.
I just lol when the idiots come here spouting the dumb shut they read on facespace as gospel

Heard from mine yesterday. Will be here on 9/11. I get it because I’m sure they have to deal with a ton of people screaming for adjusters as well.

Correct. This narrative is all over Facebook. It’s exhausting
