I was considering watching this series but now I'll pass. In one interview she tries to gaslight us about how her brother is the real victim in the ordeal he caused and convince us that being black in this country has been such a horrible ordeal for her. Boohoo.

Now is about time Cthulu should show up and take over again to stop this thing from happening.

How does she honestly believe Jussie is innocent? It would be the greatest conspiracy of all time

It's based on a book from 2016. I'll give it a look, I also think in that interview she says she gets naked in the show.

But the white supremacy was already lost at Innsmouth.

All I wanted was fish rape and cults yo. Maybe some sort of Titus Crow type adventure but written well.

Where are these masses starving for this type of "entertainment"? This seems to me to appeal only to a very small, niche group.

That's weird, because I didn't get that vibe from the trailer - it looked like there was a misdirect that it WOULD be about it (the way the sheriff's deputies begin their interaction with the protagonists), but then it appears they're trying to protect them.

Shame if it turned out to be just more political stuff. I was really looking forward to it.

How disappointing. I thought this had some promise based on the previews I saw, but it's more woke bullshite (and starring Jussie Smollett's sister to boot) then frick that. I'm out.

I’m not entirely sure how it relates to lovecraft, but I’ll still watch a few episodes

I don't get the anger for this. I love Lovecraft style things, but it's pretty obvious this is a different book. I wouldn't go to Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and expect Jane Austen.

I started listening to the book, and it definitely reads like a white man from NYC’s take on racism....I’ll continue listening but it’s very eye rolling

Great. Who will play The Coon?

quote:

DescriptionAtticus Black joins his friend Letitia and his Uncle George to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father.

This is the description of the show.

Why is everyone confused or surprised it’s going to be woke?

This is a description of the book:

quote:

DescriptionLovecraft Country is a 2016 dark fantasy horror novel by Matt Ruff, exploring the conjunction between the horror fiction of H. P. Lovecraft and racism in the United States during the era of Jim Crow laws, as experienced by black science-fiction fan Atticus Turner and his family.
