Foo Fighters at HOB NOLA 07
I still to this day have not heard the same SHRIEK from the crowd that I did that night when Dave Grohl hit the stage. It wasn’t screaming. People of both sexes were literally shrieking getting to see him that close.
During “Best of You”, people everywhere were crying cause this was post Katrina and he dedicated it and closed with that song.
Really cool night.

Jonathan Richman - a coffeehouse w/8 people in the audience
When he walked through the "crowd" I moved a chair out of his way. He nodded and shot me a "cool, dude" look.

I went to the Fiesta Bowl in 1997 (K-State vs Syracuse). It was held on New Year's Eve. After the game I had my choice of seeing Candlebox, the B-52s, or Kansas all playing at different bars on Mill St. I chose Kansas.

Same. Was a great show. I believe tickets went on sale 24 hours before the show and it was a warmup concert before their tour. Was a last minute show if my memory is correct. At one point Grohl was standing on top of the side bar, opening Budweisers and pouring them into the crowds’ mouths. I’m not a huge Foo Fighters fan, but that was a great show, especially considering the venue.

Saw Guns’ n roses at the pantages theatre (2500 capacity) in Hollywood in may of ‘91. It was a warm up gig before their first headlining tour. This was back when axl still had his sanity and a good voice. Great show.

The Black Keys at Mercy Lounge in Nashville. It may hold 200 on a good day.

Widespread Panic at the Holiday Inn lounge in Oxford during Christmas break. Last minute jam with no more than 15 folks in attendance.

Shinedown at the Varsity.
Live at Rox Cypress Bayou
***I remember seeing an opening band named “The American Tragedy” opening for either Trapt or maybe Crossfade at the Varsity long time ago. Lead singer was damn good. Anyone else ever see them. One of their songs that caught my attention was “Beneath every pearl”. I thought someone said they were from Shreveport but never seen them around after that.
LINK - beneath every pearl.

That sounds like the October 2007 show when Dave and Chris did the “dueling banjo” thing while standing on opposite bars.
That was the first time I ever saw them and I was fortunate to see them again at the same place in 2014 for the Sonic Highways thing.

These stories bring back some awesome memories.
First CD I ever bought was Cherry Pie. Years later I see that Warrant is playing at Kenny's. I was actually in the very front row. Actually didn't even recognize janie lane because he had red hair.
RIP Janie

Neko Case at Preservation Hall a few years ago. Her AND her band played 20+ songs then joined the house band for a number.
Pearl Jam at Tips in 92. They booked the date before TEN came out and then exploded .... insane scene. Also saw Green Day, Violent Femmes, Rage, Bad Brains and PJ Harvey there in those years before the HOB opened.

We saw some bands at The Masquerade in Atlanta. They were big in Europe, though I don't know if they were really all that big here. VNV Nation, Imperative Reaction, Assemblage 23, Apoptygma Berzerk...
Yeah, my ex-wife was really into a particular type of music back then, in the early to mid 2000s.

I saw Phish at a bar, could not have been 100 people there (Pearl Street NoHo, MA). Walked up and plugged into the board, still have the metal masters.
