ZZ Top, Peter Frampton and Kiss at the Warehouse* in NOLA in the mid 70's

*Note - It was hot as hell, and very loud, in that warehouse in the summer!

Chuck Berry with 200 capacity bar.

Alice Cooper at a 2000 capacity bar.

So many greats at the Blues Tent at BSMF it would be hard to count. Capacity 700-800.

Almost all of my concerts have been non-arena. So, I guess it's REM at the Saenger, or Ramones at Tip's.

I saw Jason and the Scorchers at the Texas Club, and it looked to be under 100 people there.

One or two of my favorite bands played Murphy's, but my memory is cloudy. The Connells for sure, but maybe Guadalcanal Diary.

Korn was fairly well known when I saw them in the mid 90s at Grant Street in Lafayette. The entire floor was a mosh pit, guessing capacity was no more than 200.

I had never heard of John Mayall until an older friend gave me a free ticket to his show a couple of years ago. Sit down dinner venue with about 100(?). Now I seem to notice his name everywhere as he’s had a long and fairly historic career. It was a great show.

Chevelle in a 400-cap closet called Rock and Roll Hotel in DC. 2011 I think.

Imagine Dragons also opened for a band I went to see in 2012 in a place that could not have held more than 100 people. Never heard of them then and about 5 months after that they were on every car commercial and damn ESPN segment to date.

Saw Fastball ("The Way", "Fire Escape") play to 9 people at the Roux House before it closed down a few years back. That was not a situation where you celebrated being lucky enough to see a great band in an intimate setting, more like "We're sorry this town is so lame".

The B-52's and The Clash at the Warehouse in NOLA. Missed an opportunity to see REM at the Bayou on Chimes Street, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers at the Varsity.

ETA: Saw Iggy Pop, The Psychedelic Furs, The Divinyls, Steppenwolf, The Neville Brothers, and Rare Earth at a club called Trinity (formerly the Kingfish) in the Southdowns Shopping Center.
