Saw third eye blind in 97 a the old howlin wolf. think it may have been their first show of the black album tour
Weezer 97 at HoB
saw mumford and sons at the republic
Marcus King Band in the Parish
Houndmouth and Boxer Rebellion had no more than 20 people at Gasa Gasa
Anyone catch Lumineers at Circle Bar? Was out of town but that had to be the tiniest venue they played before exploding

“SRV at Little Chiefs in the Kenilworth Shopping Center with 40 other people”
I’ve enjoyed this thread until I saw this, now I’m sick to my stomach. That is freaking awesome. Good lord. Speechless.

Stone Temple Pilots at State Palace Theater around January of 2000, I believe. Great concert in such a small venue. RIP Scott.

My morning jacket at the 40 watt club in Athens, probably. I saw Widespread Panic at tunes for tots at the Roxy in Atlanta. Maybe a few hundred people?

Bon Jovi solo with an acoustic guitar in House of Blues circa 1998. Was intimate.

Didnt you go to Memphis to see GD on the Kerplunk tour? Where was that show?

Trying to remember all the bands I saw at the Bayou, that went on to be big... I was too young to see REM there..
Modest Mouse, Old 97s...
Also, the old Howlin' Wolf, before they opened up and added that side area/bar and then opened up the ceiling and added an upstairs... room was pretty small... basically saw every indie band in the 90s there... Sonic Youth was probably the biggest at the time.. They pulled up with 2 18 wheelers..

The Smiths at Tulane's McAllister auditorium.
Pearl Jam at Tipitinas.
Jane's Addiction opening for Love and Rockets Thanksgiving eve 1987. They only had that XXX ep out with Trip Away on it.
Nine Inch Nails opening for Jesus and Mary Chain at Tipitinas in probably 1989. They played at Tipitinas a few months later and admission was $1. Yes, one dollar.
Alice in Chains openimg for someone at Tipitinas.
A triple header of Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers at the municipal auditorium for $15.
Sunny Day Real Estate someplace in NOLA but I can't remember.
Bauhaus reunion at the State Palace. Sex Pistols reunion at State Palace.
Probably others I cant remember at the moment.
Tonight is, I believe, the night The Cure first played in the UNO Lakefront Arena way back in 1987.

I was at this show too. Weiland was just out of jail & sober. They had just put out the 4 album. They were on fire that night & Weiland just owned that stage. It is a shame he went back to using after that. Very underrated front man.

I was at this show at tips as well. Had my BB t-shirt ripped right off my back while I was in the pit and never noticed until there was a break in the music. Before the show started HR was trying to come in at the side door and the security guys weren't letting him in. somebody on tips staff finally got over there to explain that's the lead singer of the band your holding at the door
