Biden’s plan would extend it to apply to what he characterizes as “assault weapons,” meaning semiautomatic rifles, pistols and shotguns with interchangeable magazines that fire intermediate cartridges (the most notorious of which is the AR-15 style semiautomatic rifle) as well as “high capacity magazines” (generally understood under the 1994 bill to be those that can hold more than 10 bullets).
Thsts not a description of an AR 15. Thsts a description of any basic hunting firearm.

quote:

Individuals who already own these items would be required to participate in a federal buyback program or register each of their qualifying firearms and magazines under the NFA — which comes with a $200 price tag
There going to have to find them first.

It's a bad idea to make an honest man a felon.

It's a really, really bad idea to make millions of them felons.

Nobody can accuse liberals of being in their right minds.

This is will do nothing to reduce violent crime.

Yes.

They claim "assault weapons" when they mean the majority of weapons.

They want you to pay $200 for every magazine that holds more than 10 rounds? The average gun owner would owe $5k.....

I can’t see how they can pass that without a grandfather clause.

Why would you pay a tax on the sale off an item you already own, this wouldn't involve a sale so where is the federal nexus?

Even machine guns are grandfathered in, generally speaking.

We need to be actively fighting for more freedoms in regards to firearms. I am tired of compromise. There is no compromise on God given rights. There should be ZERO tax stamps on suppressors, ZERO. I mean, those pansy Europeans hunt with them for God's sake.

How is it that a background check that a FFL performs and charges for not considered akin to a poll tax? Where is the NRA on fighting these issues? Background checks should either be free (like Voter ID) or gone.

Don't want felons to buy firearms? KEEP THEM IN JAIL. Once out of prison you should regain ALL your rights.
