Anybody disagree?

At the minimum, it's a 15% payraise.

I've got a wonderful fine arse girlfriend that I love very much but going to give you an up vote here. Also more than a 15% pay raise easy.

Though I would’ve been fine alone, wife and kid are the best things that have ever happened to me.

It has its pros and cons.

You wonder if I'm better off with freedom now to do the things I choose
With all my times my own and I got nothin' left but sleepin' time to lose
There's no one here to carry on If I stay out the whole night long
Give a cankerous damn if I don't call
I'm livin' like I wanted to and doin' things I wanna do
And nothin' means a thing to me at all

I dunno, my wife makes pretty good money and she buys me shite that I wouldn't buy myself (but would still like). If we are just talking about financially I am winning.

Eh, I thoroughly enjoy being single. Lots of pros.

However, in my 35 years of life, I've come to the conclusion that I am most happy while in a relationship.

Single life was awesome, but I can't go back. That first time you walk in the door from a hard day at work and your kid runs to you laughing and hugs you with more love and joy than you knew possible, and then you look up to see your wife and she has the closed-mouth half-smile with head tilted down and those green eyes looking up through her hair, lip slightly bit. Man, that's best life. Hands fricking down.

My wife makes more than me, so no.

In my experience it seems people who glorify being single have a deeply misguided idea of what being in a relationship is supposed to be.

You partner up with or get married to a man or a woman because you love them and want to spend the rest of your life with them. Full stop. Usually that's because they make you happy, or they make you a better person.

My wife levels me out, much like I level her out. Without her to put things in perspective I'd be chasing my every impulse, likely bumming from city to city with no real ambition. If she was single, and I can't say this for certain, but she'd probably still be back in Louisiana, never seeing the upside to taking a chance and moving somewhere else just for the change of scenery. She grounds me. I like to think that I encourage her to let loose a little bit.

Obviously money plays a role in every marriage, but as long as you two are on the same page about where you want your finances to go, they should mean very little in regards to how fulfilled you are in your marriage.

Had some great times being single, and also sometimes miss the freedom to do whatever the frick I want on a whim.

But, being happily married with 2 kids is a far more enjoyable life.

Plenty of fun skanks out there to befriend, but when you find a slutty gal with a great job and a strong motherly instinct, just hope she doesn’t have a side piece and jump in on a long investment.

I disagree, if you’re older. I like the stability of my partner and don’t miss the dating life one bit. Too many crazies and Karen’s out there to weed through. I don’t want to raise another man’s kids and women over 30 with no kids are bat shite insane.
