Amazing how boring game was pre Burrow even with Mathieu. I really really hope there is a season not just for entertainment but keep all the momentum that has been built with the new offense and to further establish LSU in pecking order.

Turnovers won that game. The offense was atrocious, I formation toss dives and the occasional long throw to a receiver double covered.

All you heard leading up to that game was Oregon speed, Oregon speed, then the game started. When our D-end ran their "fast" tailback down from behind the announcer about choked.

You wasn’t saying that with Mett QB. The issue was Lee was not very good.
If you have a good run game and can use play action, you can win a shite load of games if your QB is decent to good.

No disrespect OP, but watching that D was not boring. The greatest CFB D in this era.

And Honey Badger was simply magical. He gives me football smiles every time.

Historical reference . . . I was at that game and it was not boring in real time. Anticipation prior to that game had built hugely from the end of the 2010 season. It was a marquee game with stellar results for LSU. You’re a fool to compare that team (or any team) with the 2019 Tigers.

Lee was really good that year. He should have never been pulled as a starter. Should have used Jefferson as the change of pace guy the rest of the season, and if he needed to finish a game like he did against Bama, so be it. I’m so glad 2019 came along because that 2011 team was the best that never was. I rank that team up there with the greatest teams ever but that black eye in the ship took all that away.

I don't remember the specifics of the game except maybe Mathieu's strip TD. But I had the impression that game was awesome.

Maybe it's my inclination for defense, or maybe it was the watch party inside a friend's business with a seemingly endless supply of beer and duck stew.

Best and most memorable thing from that game, and foretold the remainder of the year, that defense was something special. As good as Bamas was that year, our guys manned up against everyone in the way, including playing as hard as they could the 2nd Bama game to keep us in distance. Mingo was a flash in that Oregon game. We set the tone for that year in that game

Miles and the team prepped most of the offseason for the speed of that game. That preparation built the speed that the Tiger's D showed all season. Oregon thought they could outrun anybody, then they got introduced to SEC football.

It wasn’t boring watching Les Miles open up the game running towards Oregon’s sideline while his team went to the appropriate sideline. I was there in person and laughed out loud at his goofy arse.

I can tell you from being at the game it was fricking great. Oregon fans were talking some serious shite before the game and it was like Thanos snapped his fingers and made them all disappear afterwards. You couldn’t find 2 O fans together post beat down. Was an all time great road trip.

I was there.

That 2011 defense was a fearsome monstrosity. A true juggernaut. A maurading force of nature.

Miles wasted it with his primitive and stubborn offense.

If you think an absolute beat down of a top 5 team in a nationally televised showcase game is boring, you probably should find something else to follow other than football.

I made the trip for this one and it was not boring at all. As someone else mentioned, the Oregon fans were very confident going in. That didn’t last long. And the very large LSU contingent in town let them hear about it.

With all their inexperience, Oregon had 4 turnovers and like 14 penalties. Their returner got suspended and his backup fumbled. People who talk about how we "dominated" that game and Georgia bc of the final score are as dumb as Less

I'm just getting around to watching this. 29 yard completion to Peterson with 5 mins to go in the 3rd quarter was the longest play of the game up to that point.
