O is the right fit but goes to show you anyone could have done as good as Les (4 losses/year with an NFL factory).

Now it appears that way.

But other than his accent and choice of cuisine, this was impossible to say at the time.

The right fit was finding an offensive mind to fix the clear decade-long problem for LSU — offense evolution and QB recruiting/development

Ok, so do we fire O next time we get 4 losses?

Well I thought Les was the worst gameday coach in America. So yea I thought O would be an upgrade.

I thought it was settling for much less than what LSU should have. I’m glad I was wrong.

I didn’t think it could get any worse than Les though.

95% of Tiger fans were wrong about O. I was one of them.

Can’t lie..... I thought it was a lazy, awful hire.

Had Alleva actually given the illusion of a search then I think the perception would have been different. O was never going to be a sexy hire. He was a disaster at ole miss then was serviceable in his role as interim at USC and LSU. Based off of his resume at the time he probably shouldn’t have gotten the job. However he took his opportunity and had surpassed any and all expectations in a relatively short amount of time.

The problem wasn’t that some people thought O was not the best available hire at the time. The problem was the constant and extreme negativity and insulting the man. Many fans never gave O a chance and actively tried to sabotage him. Hopefully those pathetic people don’t come back.

How would a fan be able to do that?

I’ll be honest, the crow I ate was not as bad when I wiped my mouth after with my national championship towel.

I told my wife “I’m not renewing my season tickets if they hire CEO”. I was wrong. Even if he crashes and burns from here on out (I’m confident he will do well) he gave me the greatest season of college football in history.

I thought the search was pathetic but I was on the “let’s wait and see” crowd. Never go full retard with limited information. You can make decisions, but don’t go full retard before you know.

Calling him Shrimp Boat in every post and constantly insulting his speech and IQ seems pretty active to me. You don’t think that hurts recruiting? By active I don’t mean you were talking directly to the LSU board. Most of the retards on here don’t have that kind of clout.

He's bringing in top 5 and top 10 classes and just tied the record for most players ever drafted plus 20 players total signed. I think he's done pretty well in recruiting.

I was not a fan of the process that led to the hire at the time, but was so incredibly happy to be moving on from Miles that I quickly got over it and got on the "give him 2 years/wait and see" train. After Troy I thought he might be fired, but to his credit the team turned a corner afterwards.

He's doing fine.

The disrespect he's received seems to drive him.

I first started to realize that O was an upgrade upon seeing how quick and decisive he was when things aren’t working out. He pulled the plug on Canada (a highly sought after offensive mind) in short order. Has shown ability to quickly make changes and try to upgrade constantly. He’s been basically been the antithesis of Miles since he’s taken over.

Based on this premise, Apple should just hire you as the CEO and nobody should have any problem with it or give an opinion about why that move would be dumb as frick
