I am no fan of Entergy but Baton Rouge Water has to be the worst

They cut our water off about 6 times because an empty house down the street had a past due balance. Turned out the ole baw cutting off water the first time made a mistake reading the address. Well the next time he saw the cut off notice he didn't bother to check the address because he recognized it. Took me standing over the meter not letting him have access to get Baton Rouge water to send a supervisor out and finally fix the issue.

When should they do it?

Claiborne Electric had a planned outage from 10pm to 2am. Most people didn't even know it went off.

Yes they are and ya'll are still paying for hurricanes and high oil and gas prices. The electricity should be going down just like gas at the pump.

Ours gets knocked out three or four times a year when squirrels hit a transformer. We usually hear them blow when this happens. A few months ago they put some mesh covers over the wires leading to them, and the transformers. I'm assuming those are to keep them out.

Install a generator that cuts on automatically when the power goes,or get backup batteries for you xbox or whatever you were playing.

I'm sure people were aware these repairs were going to be made and a short inconvenience is worth long term stability during bad weather.

The power companies are overwhelmed this time of year.

They’re also the most expensive. Ridiculous

You are wrong, Entergy has some of the lowest rates in the entire country.

Entergy offers some of the lowest rates in the country. according to this site, but that’s all of louisiana and there are other utilities. That’s is why louisiana gets the industries that we do here and create jobs with those plants that get built here due to the cheap electricity.

Those line workers repairing those poles have been working around the clock to get everyone’s power back on as fast as possible. Since the storm. Under storm scenarios not always possible to give much advanced noticed of outages.

5.5 hours with no power. Latest estimate 10 pm. Both broken poles have been replaced but apparently when they flipped the juice on they blew three transformers so now replacing those. We had power for about 5 seconds.

How long will food stay in a fridge if it’s not opened?

Yeah we don’t get long term stability either. Power goes out if I walk by a pole too quickly (and I don’t want quickly)

I was hoping to find a thread with facts and statistics. Nope. Just one anecdote from somebody who lives in an area prone to severe weather.

I've had them for years and never had a single issue.

We lived in LP for 7 years and I threatened to go dump my trash in front of Waste Management's front office door a few times though .
