3 pm, sunny day, no wind, power goes out.

Couple of min later get a text, saying back on by 530 pm.

Talking and investigating finds out they are replacing power poles that broke during the rainstorm that came through Tuesday night. Great. But why are they doing this at 3 pm on a Thursday? And why can't they let people know ahead of time they are cutting off power to do the work?

Absolutely no customer service. Yay monopolies!

I'm glad we have Demco. I've always found them to be a good bit cheaper.

Many are home now and working from home.

Few are working from home on Sun morning.

Don’t think the alternative is feasible with public utilities.

Sleeping? Sure.

If it has to be done in the middle of a workday, could we get 30 min notice? So people can save their work, etc?

This is why I love living in an area with buried power lines. I think in the 5.5 years we've been here the power has gone out just once and that was for only 5-ish minutes.

Did you forget to use the sarcasm font? These days, everyone's home every day.

maybe upgrade to some tech from this century that auto saves while the document is opening. Humor the class and tell us how much you actually lost because of this.

My workday is over. Lots of neighbors apparently don't have that tech.

You’re right a notice would have been nice

I’ve never had an issue with Entergy tho. I have went 10years without a power outage.

Baton Rouge Water cut off my water because my neighbor had an overdue account that neither he nor I nor anyone knew existed.

It's probably the closest I have ever come to just losing it with customer service.

Is that a private company or government?

That's turrible.
