You might want to read that thread more closely. The only evidence the OP found is multiple IPs registered quickly by the same group, and he even admitted it was probably a get rich quick scam. This happens all the time, every day.

My firm got in the news a few years back and someone went out that day and registered every conceivable permeation of our firm name, hundreds of domains, within one day.

Scripts are a motherfricker.

There is zero evidence this random dude/group is some vast organization coordinating all these protests.

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, I call it a duck. It's a very common pattern you see time and time again, be it #occupy or tea party.

Are all of these states extending the lockdowns? It seems like we're going to begin opening things back up soon and this protesting is for naught.

“We” as in which state? Didn’t the gov extend the shelter in place order until May 13?

Yep. Anything beyond a simple city hall protest draws in outside players.

No, NOLA mayor extended their lockdown. The rest of the state is still slated for reopening May 1.

I haven't heard of many states extending their lockdown. Most shouldn't. Hell, probably none should. It should be counties or municipalities handling it as necessary moving forward, unless there's a bad actor. In which case a governor steps in.

All kidding aside, i can respect this point of view;

You're welcome. No man is infallible unless that man is speaking ex cathedra (only the pope does that). Therefore Trump is not immune to mistakes. I feel he really made a mistake in shutting down the country to fight off what was essentially a nosebleed.

And I plan on voting for him in November.

As well as this one from Roger:

Some, probably. That's how these things work. Good to see you catching on.

Two Thousand Israelis Brave Coronavirus Fears to Protest Assault on Democracy

Organizers of the 'Black Flag' protest at Rabin Square in Tel Aviv were required to mark spots for people to maintain distance from each other and provide face masks
Josh Breiner
Apr 19, 2020

Some two thousand people gathered in Tel Aviv's Rabin Square Sunday to protest anti-democratic measures passed during the coronavirus crisis and the policies of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while maintaining social distancing.

The protest included speeches by prominent lawmakers from the center-left bloc, including former co-leaders of Benny Gantz's Kahol Lavan.

"This is how democracies die in the 21st century," said Yesh Atid Chairman Yair Lapid in his speech, "They don't die because tanks overtake parliament, they die from the inside."

The "Black Flag" protests first gained recognition in March, when a motorcade of hundreds of cars made its way to Jerusalem to protest anti-democratic measures to combat the virus, including approval of Shin Bet phone tracking of civilians. "It started with the coronavirus, when they [the government] started passing anti-democratic bills," said Tamir Hefetz, one of the protest organizers. "I woke up and realized there is no alternative, tomorrow will be too late." ...

What the frick do you think the Tea Party movement was ten years ago if not astroturf?

Tea party was launched by that CNBC anchor.

It was quickly spray painted green by republican political operatives

The above is exactly why these shutdowns were an easy call given the circumstances.

No one is going to get voted out as a result. Great move by Trump in terms of politics. He may or may not pick up some moderates with his response, but he certainly isn't going to lose any of his base. He supported the shutdown of the greatest economy in history and none of the people most angry about it all (his base) will ding him for it when it counts.

Protesting without violence about wanting to go about your daily life again is terrorism.

You sound worse than the Patriot Act ever could, you boot licking flaccid penis.

I'm not a big fan of Trump although I did vote for him. He shutdown the economy based on advice from medical professionals in spite of his own self interests in not doing so. He clearly was advised that he needed to.

Will history consider it an overreaction? Possibly. It's always easy to make the call when you already know the outcome.

some.... have flip flopped, back and forth between it being an overreaction to shut down flights from China, to him not reacting fast enough, and now probably back to the whole thing being an overreaction. whatever way fits their argument.
