I think now they are upset at people that decided to pay off all their debt instead of just investing the money and keeping the debt.

That does bring up a very curious question of what level of education is being impacted by job loss over this the most.

Millenial college grads have to have been hit the worst. At least Gen X had the time to climb into positions that are nearly the last to go. I'm guessing at most the average millennial is supervisory level which is a great place for companies to trim some fat. They're getting a rude wakeup call after having been told they're special and given everything by their parents/ government.

I mean most essential employees are in the plants or construction, they don't have a degree

Pretty sure this is probably unique to Louisiana

Almost everyone I know is "essential" and none of them are in plants or constructions

Lawyers are "essential" most places FFS, as are journalists and city bureaucrats

Hell I'm being forced to work overtime during all of this. I guess my little ole associates degree is paying off.
Kids really should look at cost vs return before going to school..

Or its that it is more typical of someone with a degree such as, English literature, art, music, etc.. to bitch, moan, and complain ab not being able to pay off student loans bc they can't find a high paying job. Hobbies don't pay well.

No sympathy towards someone who chose a major without any research as to what the career path after education looks like. It would probably be smart to do a little research to see how much money people actually make after getting the field you get a degree in.

I bet you have a degree in Gender studies, don't ya Sally

. (V) Schiff Is Drafting Legislation to Study Why Nation Was Unprepared for Coronavirus Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) is not a one-trick pony. After starring in the "Impeachment of Donald Trump" show, he is back in the news again. He wants to create a commission to study why the country was unprepared for COVID-19. His model is the commissions that looked into Pearl Harbor and 9/11, so we can learn from the mistakes that were made. Of course, Schiff already knows the answer: Donald Trump pooh-poohed the whole thing because he felt talking about it and taking action might hurt his reelection prospects. Mix in a bit of the Republican philosophy of "Government is not the solution; government is the problem" and it doesn't take a blue-ribbon commission to figure out what happened. But Schiff is not interested in getting the answer he already knows. He is interested in pointing out to the voters that Donald Trump is the problem. If the Senate has to agree to the commission, it won't happen, but if the House creates it on its own, it could. It could be staffed with Democrats, plus some well-known never-Trump Republicans, plus Rep. Justin Amash (I-MI) to make it look bipartisan. But make no mistake. It is not about finding out the "elusive truth." It is more about the old game of pinning the tail on the elephant. (V)
