Please reconsider non-stick. You need one or two decent nonstick skillets. No need for nonstick saucepans or larger pots. You can't use them over high heat, you can't get a good sear in them, you can't fry in them.....

Maybe look at the link and provide a suggestion of which to buy. There are some SS sets and aluminum sets in the link. I don't have good knowledge of the brands.

one or two non-stick pans and a different type will work fine.

Any of those sets any good?

I bought a Kirkland set from Costco. Does the trick for us and not too expensive. Quality is great and should they decline over the years, easy to replace.

I have a really nice set of All-Clad, yet most of the pots/pans used daily at my house are the commercial aluminum cookware you can get @ Sam's. Save your $$$, go to Sam's. You can thank me later...

I have a set of All Clad I keep building up as I find Amazon Warehouse deals. Then I also have a set of cheap amazon basics non stick pans.

Cook's Illustrated rates this set as their best buy for 2020: LINK

Their top rated set is All-Clad( as usual) but very expensive. I recommend you do not buy non-stick except for a throw away skillet or 2 like Farberware Millennium because you will want to toss it after the coating dies and it will.

After years of non-stick pots and pans I finally gave up on them. They simply don't last as far as the coating goes and now all I have are stainless steel, cast iron and a couple heavy aluminum pots.

I do have non-stick for some of my frying pans used for omelets and frying eggs, but that's about it.

Non-stick is a waste. The surface will flake and you'll be buying more soon, regardless of how much you pay and the quality. It's simply not built to last. Grab a couple non-stick skillets. My choice is Tramontina professional skillets available in various sizes, available on Amazon, Walmart, etc.

Tramontina makes a nice set for about $400 that will last you the rest of you and yours kid's life. Tramontina 80116/249DS Gourmet Stainless Steel Induction-Ready Tri-Ply Clad 12-Piece Cookware Set, NSF-Certified, Made in Brazil LINK

I have a set that's similar and it's about 20 years old.

What’s your budget and what are your priorities?

Do you cook on gas, electric, or induction?

Thread hijack attempt:

I want to start cooking with cast iron but have an electric glass stove top. Is my only option going with enameled cast iron? All the ones I see have a coating on the outside and inside though. I figure the inside coating takes half the fun out of it.

Anyone use anything else?

Anybody have experience with the Farberware brand of stainless? Looks just like what my grandmother cooked with and looking to replace some terrible non-stick pots and pans. Or should I just step up to the Tramontina or All Clad level? Very intermediate cook but trying to learn and do better.
