Hopefully so - but I don’t think we’ll know until we watch China over the next few weeks, then we can add another layer of validation to the models.

18 months of this you'll have more to worry about than a stupid virus curve.

Most people don’t want a change in leadership during a huge ordeal, if anything a national crisis during the election helps him.

The 18 month presumption, or any presumption, is based on the current available data. We will get a better read on the transmission and morbidity properties in the US population as we test and process more cases, and that projection will change (potentially drastically). We have such a small slice of the data we’ll have in a month—projections are very much subject to change.

So weird. I was told it would just magically disappear.

If you are immune to it once you get it and recover and the survival rate is 99+% for people under 65, I’d rather just get it now while Hosptial beds are available and everyone else is already quarantining, and be back to a normal life in 3 weeks.

Couldn’t get it and couldn’t infect others would kind of make you a superhero.

I mean, they’ve pretty much already found a cure. It’s worked all over the world. But that’s not being discussed. LINK

That’s a link to a trial in France that was released today.

This country won’t make it into April with the current set up. This is unprecedented. People are going to start losing their shite as soon as next week. Just watch.

This country won't be doing this for 18 months. We will flatten the curve and then reopen everything this summer.

If we can’t reopen until the summer, there will be nothing left to reopen.

People need to lose their shite if the government's current plan is 18 months of on again off again lockdown. That should be an unacceptable strategy.

Families are at each other’s throats by the end of the Holidays. This is that on steroids.

In the meantime let’s kill the economy until we have more data to look over

i was trying to tell people this about "flattening the curve". you have to maintain that or else it just spreads like wildfire and ERs are at risk again.

If it’s more than 2 months the virus will be the least of our problems. The economy will crash and we'll be in a depression and we’ll wish we just dealt with the crashing of the medical system. A depression will cause so much chaos That a viral epidemic will be small. Everyone, and I mean everyone will be screwed and our country will be in chaos. Like starvation and a breakdown of society.
It’s simple economics folks. Those that don’t get this either want an apocalyptic event or they are ignorant to economics.
God help us now, please.

I hope you're wrong but I fear this scenario more than I fear the virus.

People will tolerate these extreme measures for a certain period of time but not as long as it takes for bureaucrats to make decisions or "do a study". The fact that these shutdowns were made without an end date has me very concerned and it should concern every American that believes in our freedom.

Yeah I don't see that happening. Serie A which is the Italian soccer league is scheduled to start back up on May 3rd, and Italy has been the hardest hit country. I imagine things should be normal around late April or early May.
