We play FCS schools every year, let's keep the $ in state.

I guarantee people will show up just to see the halftime show.

Then the halftime show had better be on Nicholson Drive or Burbank, that’s where most of the fans will be.

Yes, and unfortunately a player was crippled for life.

Yep. The collision with Georgia’s kicker on a kickoff definitely proves the point

Dangerous to be on the field with such superior athletes like that kicker

It was literally the definition of a freak play and away from the ball

If that is true I will be changing my mind on Woodward very quickly. There is no reason for these two teams to play

You hear that Scott? Bulletproof tiger will be changing his mind about you—effective immediately. I hope you have prepared for this moment.

This is my opinion. If you want to see the Southern Band, go to a Southern game. If you want to see FCS football go to an FCS game. If you want to see a pointless massacre, by all means, schedule this game.

You are missing the WHOLE point. Upon being named the Head Coach at LSU, Coach O made it a point to build a fence around the State of Louisiana. He also encouraged ALL the college Head Coaches in the state to not allow out of state D1 coaches to come do camps on their campuses.

So if you're going to ask that of the colleges in the state then you bet your arse, you better give each college a chance to play in Tiger Stadium at some point. This is what Coach O meant by building the fence around the state. In return, LSU coaches help out with the camps at the instate schools when available.

Big picture, the small colleges will get campers that normally wouldn't attend their camp, keeping most of La. talent instate, not necessarily LSU caliber players. That is what "The Fence" is all about.

Is it less dangerous for ULL, southeastern, and Nicholls?

Did you send prayer emails to Arkansas St and Sam Houston State players before they came to BR?

This is a great thing for Baton Rouge you’re just a huge vaj.

If there are 5 undefeated P5 teams, the team that plays Southern has an automatic strike against it.

Everyone plays a shitty team. Is the strength of schedule going to be different if we play SU or UTSA? No. How about Northwestern State? Nicholls?? You are over reacting.

And it will be just as "Embarrassing" for LSU as when JACKSONVILLE STATE came in here a few years ago with their 400 member band and totally blew Tiger Band off the field with not only the Sound, but with their creative and totally entertaining halftime show. (Tiger Band and Madison Scout Drum and Bugle Corps Alum here, so I know what I'm looking at on the field)

Either you're entertained and want to stay in your seat and watch the halftime show or you're not........…….

I agree that you provided one good reason for scheduling this game.

I think there are many more reasons not to schedule this game.

There are other ways to compensate Southern for helping build the fence, like, as you said, steering non-LSU caliber players from Louisiana to Southern and playing the spring game there.

With respect to ULL, yes. Its an FBS school with more football resources.

I don't want to see LSU play Southeastern, Nicholls, or any FCS team any more than I want to see LSU play Southern.

So you don't have a reason to disagree with me. You just think I am complaining.

Got it.

You're right on. LSU has no business playing Southern in football.

Realistically we aren’t getting 3 P5 OOC games every year.

If we are going to spend money on a rent a win, we might as well keep it in state.

I don’t care for these games much either, but us playing northwestern st last year didn’t end up hurting us at all like you think this would.
