Ian McNulty on facebook has great reviews of restaurants and the latest on the food scene. Also check out NOLA Eats. There are a lot of good places to find reports of restaurants and good food in NOLA, one just needs to look. Tom Fitzmorris is incompetent and Mary Ann has her hands full of carrying the load. There are other more up to date reviews on food, coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner etc.

I looked at Nola eats and found over a dozen defunct restaurants within 3 minutes of searching. This is not a reliable site.

Thought of another one. Jamila's on Maple Street. Always good and certainly under the radar.

And you can get Jamila's merguez at Langenstein's on Arabella.

Another one for the list:

but ADOLFO'S is my clear winner.

I love that place and you are correct, I always thought it was pretty damn busy.

Did they ever start accepting credit cards? Cash only places is a huge turn off for me.

nope Yeah it's frustrating, but it is what it is. I often forget it's cash only, so I am hitting up that ATM downstairs. We are going in a few weeks for our anniversary. It's been a couple of years since we have been, and I am looking forward to it. That veal ocean is the tits!

Hong Minh

It's a Chinese place in Harvey, located on the street behind the Best Buy, a couple of blocks down. Very unassuming looking, but it may be the best Chinese in Metro NO.

Adolfo’s always seems crowded because there are like 4 tables and they are all on top of each other

Second time I've mentioned it this week, but I'll say Shyan's Kitchen. I always forget it exists.

I always want to order from here, but I never really know what the hell to order. I have heard from friends that it is great.

DiCristina's in Covington. The cauliflower is legit. There is nothing bad on the menu.

I feel like Adolofo’s is well known, people just don’t go often because it is so small and they don’t take reservations. I like it well enough, but I’m not waiting 45-60 minutes for a table at any place that doesn’t have a great bar.

Sandros was always a great little spot I used to eat lunch at when I worked in Metairie. It doesn't get mentioned much. I always thought they should have moved to a bigger/better location.

Sorry to disagree with you, but my experience here was awful, as was he three other guests we were with. Food was extremely average and tasteless.

Poppa's on Galvez. You order through bulletproof glass and you have to take it with you but it's the best fried chicken I've found so far.

I have been sworn to secrecy and cannot divulge the location of the fried chicken establishment I frequent in New Orleans for fear it will become too popular, crowded with hipsters, and raise their prices.
