I should probably get health insurance one day.

Does your employer pick up a significant chunk of the premium
Of course they do. $1200 a year for family plan doesn’t exist even with the worst coverage.

Mine went down. And we got a HSA. I couldn’t be happier. The copay plan was great when my kids were small and always sick but they’ve grown out of that. I can finally save some cash with the HSA.

Premiums stayed same for two yrs now. However from 2011-2020 premiums went from $108/mo with $5k out of pocket to $435/mo 10k out of pocket. They also throw in a scammish co-insurance. 2020 difference so far is less prescription coverage. Its such a scam and certainly redistribution of wealth.

Still under $100/ month for family plan.
I know it depends on the plan & what company pays (or govt subsidizes), but I haven't seen that pricing since W was President. Back then for us it would have been a platinum type plan (hard to compare but just based on low co-pays for doctor visits including specialists, very low deductible, co-pay for brand name prescriptions, and 90% coverage for services after deductible).
Our prices went up over 10% this year. We have a change plans and pricing each year.

$0, to me at least.
My premiums haven't increased in 10 years. I have 100% employer covered health insurance. It's possible my employer's premiums increased.

nah, with Trump rolling back getting fined for not having health insurance - you might as well wait until you are older and actually need it.

switched back to HSA since my wife isn't pregnant this year, so we got a pretty significant decrease in our premium
obviously our deductible is much higher now though

Went up a dollar or two. We have a Top Middle Low plan. I do the middle because my company matches a few hundo into our HSA.
Posted on 1/30/20 at 8:29 am to GetCocky11
Like 18 dollars a month. Could be worse.
Posted on 1/30/20 at 8:30 am to GetCocky11

but it’s solid for catastrophic events.
That is great if, by some unfortunate chance, you have a catastrophic event, but by an overwhelming majority, you use insurance for common healthcare. Doesn't sound like a great deal, barring catastrophe.

Yep. Designed to fail so the government can step in and “save us” from something they fricked up. Single party payer for everyone but the people that make the decisions regarding the insurance lol.
