My monthly cost for a family of 5 went from $350(hah) to $450 a month, and that's after my employer's portion. It's the "Cadillac" plan, but even it went to garbage. Probably going back to a cheaper plan next year.

Combination of family medical, vision, and dental was $5,724 (family of 4) in 2019. It's up to $6,396 in 2020 or an increase of 11.7% (+$672) or an additional $24 a paycheck.

Sucks...

Damn $450 a month for a family plan.... I am paying $1,400/month for a family of five with BCBS and another $100/month for dental and vision. Insurance is out of control.

$85 to $118. But it didn't go up the last 5 years.

This

Sounds like we might have the same plan. Especially if the increase is effective April 1.

nah, with Trump rolling back getting fined for not having health insurance - you might as well wait until you are older and actually need it.

This.

In an ideal scenario young people could pay for cheap catastrophic type plans and maybe get some incentive to go to the doctor once a year for checkups. Pay for other things as needed.

What the leftists want is to force young people to pay for health care they won't use with the pinky promise that there will be money for them when they're old.

Which there won't be. See social security. We are having fewer and fewer kids to pay for more and more people. The math doesn't work.

Mine went up 10%. Last year it was like 35% so I’m not going to complain.

Mine went down $20 a pay period for better coverage. First time in 21 years in the real world this has happened.

I'm giddy as as hs kid on prom night with pocket fulla rubbers.

That is great if, by some unfortunate chance, you have a catastrophic event, but by an overwhelming majority, you use insurance for common healthcare. Doesn't sound like a great deal, barring catastrophe.

I have no chronic medical problems or prescriptions, anyway.

I'm self employed so really get reamed. It hasn't gone up much the last 3 years but in 2016 it went from $350/mo to $1100/mo for a shitty 70/30 plan for just me. It went up because my provider stopped selling policies in Texas and I had to find a new provider.

Still under $100/ month for family plan.

I know it depends on the plan & what company pays (or govt subsidizes), but I haven't seen that pricing since W was President.

I'm surprised,too.
Former employers,(never been government) I was paying up to $300/month for family plan.
On this one, which is a family plan, too, I'll pay $30/ co-pays, it covers most procedures, but the family deductable is a thousand or so. I'm as satisfied as I can be in 2020.

14%, and now my company is tiering it so higher paid employees pay more than lower paid employees. I got hit twice essentially.
