Personally I think anyone who actually believes that ANYONE is following the rules on what an analyst can and cannot do is just fooling themselves.

As soon as media availability is over your best qb guy is going to be in the qbs ear. I don’t care if it’s the head coach, an analyst or a fricking cheerleader

Every one of our assistants probably does similar things.

That wasn't the point nor was breaking down film the important part of that quote. He obviously has unique skills that will be hard to replicate, you're kidding yourself to believe otherwise.

And Johnson isn't it as far as PGC goes.

The Saints are the common denominator though. Hence O joked a week ago that he wanted to hire Sean Payton, but settled for Brady when he couldn’t do that.

I’d say the chances of Ensminger being able to successfully run a system that he just called plays for is higher than thinking you’ll find the next Brady, McVay, Kyle Shanahan, etc.

If Robinson leaves, you move Mickey to RB coach, CJ to WR coach, and can put Munoz at TE/PGC.

It’s not that hard.

I guess what I'm saying is finding the next Brady should be the goal, not hiring a Saints assistant. Why wouldn't you try for that? We are not lacking resources to find that coach. It just seems like they don't think they have to do it for whatever reason.

Do they think that Brady was great because he came from the Saints or that he was great because he had a great mind for the game? I don't know why you would go from making an apparently inspired hire like Brady, then go back to an also-ran like CJ. Like I said, it makes it seem like they don't really know why Brady was as good as he was. It wasn't because of the Saints, that just happened to be where he was when they found him.

Oh no, they will stop drafting LSU players?

Didn’t he fail spectacularly at Tulane?

Yeah that New Orleans recruiting and passing game knowledge went 15-34 at Tulane. It was so bad it took Fritz, who is an outstanding coach, three years to make them presentable.

IKR?

I'm thinking a Saints coaching "pipeline" producing players already familiar with some of the nomenclature and eccentricities of the Saints offense actually might tempt CSP to draft some LSU personnel.

ETA:

I mean, we are stacked with WRs that are speed burners that have all but completely forgotten how to drop a pass... and the Saints really need a viable second receiver threat to compliment MT13.

Just sayin...

Joe Horn was drafted in the fifth round and became legendary. Michael "Beerman" Lewis tried out for the team when he was a CDL beer delivery driver who went on to be one of the more disruptive offensive players of the Haslet era...

Justin Jefferson, come on down?

Had a similar thought. Not sure CJ would leave for a college WR position unless he’s just looking for a change.

Def would prefer Munoz.

I would be shocked if this wasn’t O’s game plan.

Ideally we find a way to get both Johnson and Munoz on the coaching staff.

If we do this and if Johnson is just coaching WRs and recruiting then maybe this works. More than one if makes me nervous, though.

Can PGC's recruit too? He's a good recruiter or use to be. Curious to see his impact in the passing game offense.

This is an on-field position, so he can recruit.

You people believe anything.

Y'know, this isn't as hard as people are making it out to be.

LSU had phenomenal WRs. They had an accurate QB who knew where those WRs were going to be. They had a very aggressive offensive philosophy, going 3 WR every down and usually splitting the TE and RB out too.
The basic approach is, you won't stop them 3 plays in a row, and if 1 play succeeds you get a 1st down.
You force the defense to focus so much on the pass, that the runs are devastating when they occur.
You plot several plays at a time, so if/when you get a 1st down you can go uptempo and start making it an extended mismatch against defenses used to chessmatch styles (Saban, etc).

The key isn't the play, it's the players and the aggression. You have to have the elite WRs (and LSU has had them), and the accurate QB (we haven't, but we finally did and showed LSU can be a place to come to).
And the aggression- which flows downstream from the top.

Miles hit the parking brake, didn't want to take chances. O's doing the opposite, and this season it worked.

If we get Johnson, he should help the WRs, and I'm pretty sure he knows enough plays to add some new wrinkles in. The question is if O allows E to call the same aggressive style, and if Brennan looks downfield or at the checkdown.

I would only take Johnson as a recruiter and WR coach NOT a PGC. In saying that why would Johson leave the Saints for the same position? Please just promote Munoz to PGC.

247 laid out how the staff would handle Robinson leaving weeks ago. There's a replacement ready and waiting.

So did I when Tulane hired him. Turns out there was a reason he was never a coordinator. It’s bc he doesn’t know his arse from a hole In the wall other tha. WR drills and recruiting.
