Any can’t miss sites, stops or eats? Headed up this Friday leaving Sunday. Wife is interested in the plantations I’m interested in watching the Mighty Mississippi. Thanks for the help.

Grab a bite at magnolia grill or the camp. Also, it's not much on scenery but Roux 61 has really good food.

We stayed in the cabins at Monmouth Plantation. We also ate dinner there. I would highly recommend. There are also carriage rides that can be found downtown. The trip around town was very enjoyable and the driver was verh knowledgeable too.
As for the Mighty Mississippi, Magnolia Grill on Silver Street had solid grub and is right on the river. 1818 is the another place I would mention, but bring your extra pennies...they are proud of their menu. I like Natchez, it is a cool town.

Go to the visitor center and take the guided bus tour. $20 for an hour tour. Worth it.
It's called hop on/hop off, but stay on. The bus likely won't be back for an hour. If you see something you want to explore, go back on your own.
Donut Shop is a great place for pastries and Delta style tamales. There's usually a line, but it's worth the wait.
The Camp and Pearl Street Pasta were good on a recent visit. Fried pickles (with jalapenos in them) at The Camp were great. Everyone in our group talked about them.

The Camp was good and right on the river. We enjoyed a walk to breakfast at Natchez Coffee Co. Go check out the Graveyard if you get a chance.
Also, we stayed at a B&B on Pearl street and woke up with no power. Walked outside to see the building at the end of the block in flames.

is that the place in the Monmouth? Had a terrible experience there which is a shame because it's a great setting.

Mount Locust on the Natchez Trace isn't too far away. Also Emerald Mound (second largest mound in the US).

Is there a better time of year to go than another? I assume the summer months would be the worst.

Make it a point to go to Fat Mama's for tamales and margaritas.

Go in March/April. The weather is right, houses are on tour, and all of the flowers are blooming.

My grandfather used to say, “I’ve cut wheat and milo from Harlingen, TX to Miles City, MT, and I’ve cut soybeans from Shreveport to St. Francisville to Jonesboro. The donut shop in Natchez is the only donut I’ve ever had that is still just as good at 6 pm as it was at 6 am.”

Is this a three day weekend vacation spot? Any highlights other than the tour?

I’ve had a few excellent meals in the past at Cotton Alley Cafe

Spent a weekend there 2-3 years ago.
Don’t skip the Longwood Plantation as far as the home tours. It’s by far the coolest of those.
Make a pass by Mrs. Nellie’s. There’s a documentary called ‘Mississippi Madam‘ that I watched recently about it. I think it was on Prime.
Roux 61 & Pearl Street Pasta will probably be your best restaurants. The Eola Hotel had a pretty good breakfast buffet if I remember right.
I took a ghost tour which was pretty cool too if you like that kind of shite.
