Joe Burrow's worst stat? Outside the Top 125. He needs some work.

From a different thread - snaps logged in the fourth quarter:

quote:

Burrow has logged only 95 snaps in the fourth quarter or overtime, which ranks outside the top 125 QBs nationally.

I usually never spin off a thread, but finding Joe's "bad" category deserved its own thread.

But Clemson fans said we always leave Burrow in the game to pad his stats...

Too busy finishing up in the locker room with the other teams cheerleaders.

No matter how LSU plays Monday, there is no way Burrow is getting willingly pulled out before the confetti.

I wonder how many snaps he played after the 3rd quarter of the A&M game. May be more than the whole season.

If the game is out of reach in the fourth Brennan will be in during the fourth. No way O will risk Joe's future just to leave him in.

Yep. I could see a similar situation to the A&M game. Joe goes out. Hands off on 4th down, and Brennan comes in to let Joe get his well-deserved ovation.

Yes - here's hoping Joe continues to finish out toward the bottom of that stat!! What a great stat to be "the worst".

I actually think that stat is more telling that you might imagine.

I mean, Brennan hasn't really gotten a TON of mop-up time this year. So...what are some possible reasons Joe playing so little in the 4th?

1. Because our D is so unmotivated at that point, they have trouble getting off the field?

2. Our D is gassed from being on the field the whole game after the 90 second, 80 yard drives by the O?
If this is the case, would we not see a corresponding first half time of possession disparity? Maybe there is one. I don't know.

I'm not being an arse. I think our D probaby fares better when there is a more evenly matched opponent. Captain Obvious but...it's a lot easier to keep your focus when you aren't up by 35 points at half. Regardless that gives me a lot of hope for Monday, even though stopping Etienne makes me a little nervous. I think it says that we have some pretty decent reserves to draw from.

Why can’t we find one decent quarterback who can manage the game for us.

And this is exactly why this Joe Brady crap will never work.

Les' QB's were always able to get quality snaps in the 4th quarter, even in rent-a-win games

It will absolutely be Joe’s choice. I don’t think it will come to this.

The funny thing is Burrow only averages around 7 more pass attempts per game than Lawrence.
To make up for the statistical difference, each of those 7 passes would have to go for somewhere around 18 yards each and every fourth one or so for a touchdown.

I also tried to find information regarding how many quarters per game Burrow averaged. I am under the assumption he played much longer than TL in order to build his stats and reach the 5,000 mark. This appears to be all about a statement to be made for LSU. Plus LSU offense is comprised of a lot of short dump offs/ slants to keep the linebackers honest and away from rushing the line. The scheme has been successful and at the same time increased his QB rating to what almost 200?

Some nonsense from Tiger Net.

1. Offense goes conservative and gets a bunch of 3 and outs
2. Offense scores on 3 play drives

This stat is crazy, especially when you consider that LSU has played more games than most teams have and that LSU generally runs a lot of offensive plays in a game.

He has less than 7 snaps in the 4th Quarter of each game.
