Entourages is too high!

This. These dudes (like Floyd Mayweather) travel everywhere with 20 leaches hanging on. $20k vacation weekend turns into a $200k vacation weekend.

CHAT, briefly summarize this hideous wall of text. Consider the sender and do a psych evaluation. Limit response to 3 bullets and a one sentence summary.

new NIL era baw !
One interesting piece of this which I’d like to know if all schools are doing other than just Georgia is the form of contract here. It’s got a heavily punitive aspect to it.

I can see the logic of “you come here and as long as you are here, we pay you $30k a month. If you leave, the payments stop”.

UGAs position (which I think is awesome) conforms more to a typical 2 party agreement where both sides have to meet their full obligation and imposes damages if not. I don’t know why any kid would sign that these days tbh.

So apparently this was a one-ish year contract or 13 months. he stays for a month then bolts. kid signed a bad deal.

but that begs the question how many of these contracts are written like this and how big a negotiating point it becomes. also SHOCKED that Mizzou didn’t make the kid produce this paperwork up front and nip this in the bud on his behalf. “kid, you know if you come to Mizzou, this deal you signed w UGA says you owe them $300k plus?”
Right, but for those of us who were just coming off the miracle on ice age, and didn’t have cable until the 90s, Tigervision only happened at a friend’s house.

I actually remember plotting a way to spend the night with a buddy of mine who had cable because I knew I could talk his dad into buying the game on TigerVision, ??

How did you 80s baws watch games?

In honor of Cholly Mac’s Tangerine Bowl victory…

back in the day when only my rich friends had cable and before we could afford tickets, I was relegated to listening to football games on the radio in BR. Didn’t WJBO broadcast it? I won the Sports Shorts trivia show one day in elementary school but my dad gave me the answer. Anybody remember JBO sports shorts?

I also remember listening to the 79 USC game on the front porch of my grandmother’s house in college town and could faintly hear the crowd in realtime along w the Radio.

did you guys get to attend as kids or radio/tv only?

Listening to the exploits of Tiger greats like Dalton Hilliard, and Tommy Hodson was probably sketchy on a battery AM radio too.

I can attest this although it’s not super insightful given that AM was the only way to get the games 90% of the time. WJBO IIRC!
watched it on TV. I remember bc there weren’t many LSU games on TV then. was that not david woodley’s last game?

also had the 1978 and 1979 team poster calendars in my room and just remember marveling at Willie Teal’s hair. dude was badass too.

I was thrilled to get that calendar and think about giving it to one of my kids today. Dad what the hell is this?

Congrats on the Natty! serious. add that to 1939 and the meat judging dynasty and that hall of champions is starting to fill up!
They are going to need to develop some slightly different habits in tight SEC games - finishing layups, free throw shooting and especially, taking care of the basketball. They are playing super fast and loose right now with no apparent penalty due to the competition being so poor. I like Kim’s long time approach of easy non-conf but we have played some teams this year that are absolutely putrid. UT Arlington was definitely not the worst opponent i’ve seen if you can believe that.

They are elite, that is for sure. Knox will be an all time great. Fulwiley is the best pure athlete I have ever seen on the women’s bb court and SO fun to watch. They will just need to adjust. Kim will get them there though. She’s building chemistry and confidence. My call is elite 8, and possibly final four. Impossible to predict a natty. Always some luck involved in winning a natty.
