re: Hats' off to the Eastside fans - The King on 10/15/17 at 3:57 pm
Heat was brutal in our section. The combination of the blasting sun and the 20-0 deficit got rid of most of the douche bag fans who were cursing the team and coaching staff in the first quarter. By the time the comeback started, it was a thinner but much better crowd. I was proud to be there. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Awesome read on the day O got the job - The King on 8/22/17 at 8:07 am
And just look around the country, past success is a recipe for future success...90% of the time. That's why top schools good after guys who've won elsewhere.
Not sure about this, but it would be interesting to see the statistics. I don't doubt that top schools go after guys who hav...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Awesome read on the day O got the job - The King on 8/21/17 at 9:38 pm
F**k those credentials, huh?
Of course not. My post assumes that you're comparing people who are qualified for the job. In many cases a resume and paper statistics are not great proxies for success in a given job. Otherwise qualified coaches succeed at certain schools or on certain...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2)
re: Awesome read on the day O got the job - The King on 8/21/17 at 9:06 pm
Man, I love this story. I'm no coaching expert, but I've been hiring people for about 10 years now and watching them develop in their roles. Very few qualities are more important than passion and love for the job. I'm really pulling for him to be great. And I think he will be. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (3)
re: Will LSU Win a Championship With Coach Orgeron? - The King on 7/2/17 at 5:06 pm
The odds are against him. We've had 32 football coaches, and only 3 have won national championships. It's obviously a hard thing to do, but any Tiger fan worth a damn is pulling for him to do it. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

My subscription to Tiger Rag and access to the internet actually overlapped. O.P., thanks for making me feel ancient. :doublebird:...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: New Orleans coaches meeting to boycott LSU Football.. - The King on 2/7/17 at 8:02 pm
It's simple. Those coaches are mad because their buddy was reassigned, he wasn't even fired. They are trying to flex the muscle they believe they have
I hear you. That seems like all it can be. That's just so irrational that it's a little hard to accept. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: New Orleans coaches meeting to boycott LSU Football.. - The King on 2/7/17 at 7:53 pm
I seriously don't understand the issue. It can't be about race. He hired two new African American coaches. And it can't be about connections to New Orleans either. What is the issue here? It's pretty typical for a new head coach to hire new coordinators and position coaches. The bigger story is how ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Some people on this board just need to accept that Joe Alleva is a imbicile - The King on 11/27/16 at 8:54 pm
You're going to have to at least run spellcheck if you plan to publicly insult someone's intelligence....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Clay Travis destroys us - The King on 11/27/16 at 8:13 pm
Is this guy being serious? That is an ignorant, immature rant. I honestly can't tell if that was supposed to be funny. But it's not. This is classic meaningless criticism. Offer no insight whatsoever other than pointing to his record at Ole Miss (while ignoring his success at USC and LSU). Say a...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Would O be like Archer post-Arnsparger? - The King on 11/18/16 at 9:03 am
No. Archer was very young and inexperienced when he got the LSU job (youngest HC in D-1 football at the time). O is in his 50's and was previously a HC at a major college program. He has MUCH more experience now than Archer did when he was named LSU's HC
I agree with this. There is n...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
