Areas in red are closer to somewhere in Texas than the opposite sides of Texas are to each other

Drove from Houston to Big Bend National Park this time last year. I believe it. There are stretches in West Texas where there aren’t gas stations or stop lights for 100+ miles.

Yes we all know. Texas is annoying as shite.

It’s just luck too, they joined at a time when we had lots of states to manage. Louisiana purchase happened when we were looking to add more state so we divided it up.

The Louisiana Purchase at 828,000 sq. miles says to Alaska’s 663,000 sq. miles and Texas’ paltry 269,000 sq. miles: “Tiens ma bière!”

We should divide Alaska in half and then Texas would be the 3rd largest state.

Never been to Texas.. but been all up and down the East coast and out to LA/Vegas a couple times. Actually I've never been to the middle of the country at all. Furthest West I've been that was East of the Mississippi was Tunica Resorts, MS ( ) which is where my buddy and I stayed for the Ole Miss trip last year.

Fun fact:
It takes longer to drive from Key West, FL to Pensacola, FL than it takes to drive across the full length of Texas
