You have defamed the profession as a whole. Please provide me with copies of your auto, homeowners, CGL,and any Umbrella policies that you have.

Are you referring to the 275 N.O. streetcar passengers injured in the latest wreck?

They aren’t, but you wouldn’t know that since you seem to gobble up propaganda like it was a Milky Way.
Among many, many other factors which do not involve “sue happy” people, many accidents result in lawsuits because you only have one year — the shortest time frame in the entire country — to sue or completely lose your right to recover. This leaves much less time for informal resolution and forces people into the courtroom.

Just reposting these pics since the world needs to see them.

This is plenty of time to get some ESI's and a surgical recommendation. Don't be lazy.

For the same reason they are everywhere. Injury lawyers are 1/2 of the commercials on TV, and they tell them it's easy money that costs them nothing to acquire.

u think legal suits be exclusive to Louisiana?
You ever seen a personal injury attorney advertise at Gameday before?

So you're getting all your info from the OT? Very reliable.

Not a lawyer, but aren’t there caps on damages for certain personal injury cases in other states that Louisiana doesn’t have?

You mean it costs nothing except their past, present and future physical damages, mental anguish, loss of income potential, loss of earning capacity, inconvenience, loss of consortium and loss of enjoyment of life.
Other than THAT, it costs them nothing.

I've lived in Missouri, Kansas, and Texas. Can tell you that none of those states have the amount of injury attorney advertisements that Louisiana has nor the amount of people filing lawsuits from auto accidents.

Absolute truth. I’ve left the state twice (currently living in Birmingham) and Louisianians are horrible people. I saw it after Katrina and then again after the BP Horizon spill- A large percentage of Louisianians will take whatever they can get away with taking. And it’s not relegated to poor people.

Because dating back to Huey, we have always been the most socialist state in the country.
We love to have things which we are not willing to work for. We expect a good government yet no taxes. We expect to not have to work yet have food and shelter. We expect bigger roads yet no tolls. We want to live on the water but not pay for flood insurance. On and on and on.

The absolute worst aspect of this state is the people who comprise it. I say this not only as a native and resident of south Louisiana but also someone who works with customers from across the entire country. I can say without a doubt or any hesitation that my Louisiana customers are the rudest, angriest, most entitled, biggest pains in the arse I deal with every day. People who say Louisiana is full of the nicest and kindest people in the country have never worked with people from other areas of the country.
Well yall say North Louisiana is more like Texas anyway so we good up here.

Okay, I'm getting on my soapbox for a moment here. I've said this here before but I'll say it again.
The biggest problem regarding auto insurance in Louisiana is the fact that insurers take a deny until the customer or their lawyer prove otherwise approach to most injury claims.
Here's what I mean by that...
Bob gets into an auto accident and has an injury that requires ongoing care. Bob pays out of pocket for co-pays and deductibles on his health insurance policy each time he goes to the doctor for ongoing care. Bob submits receipts and such to the insurance adjuster for the at-fault party's insurance company. Said adjuster then notifies Bob that they won't be paying a dime until the case settles.
Bob is afraid to close the case file since he may need ongoing care and/or surgery for a while. Bob keeps the case file open while receiving care for his injury. Little does Bob know, his doctor stated in his medical record that injuries are a result of an auto accident.
Uh oh, Bob's health insurance company, only after a surgery is scheduled and performed, takes a closer look at his file since now they're shelling out much more than before for this treatment/injury.
While Bob is out of work recovering from his surgery, he receives a letter from his health insurance company demanding $17,000 from him since the injury was due to an auto accident therefore making them not responsible for payment of his treatment.
Thankfully Bob was smart enough to know not to close the file with the adjuster yet. Bob submits letter to the adjuster and the adjuster denies that his injury was a result of the accident and decides they're also not responsible for payment.
Bob needs a lawyer because the auto insurance company didn't have a process in place to determine liable injuries from the start and instead refused to pay a dime until he closed the file. Bob is fed up and turns the whole thing over to his lawyer.
Bob's lawyer, Gordon McKernan, obviously wants to milk the case for every dollar it's worth and doesn't just stop at reimbursing Bob because after all, this is what the lawyer does for a living.
Yes, lawyers can be scumbags but they're just doing their job and they're making a killing doing it because of the incompetence of the insurance companies' policies for handling injury claims from the start of a claim.
Spot on, and I do mainly defense work. I've also dealt with my own accident claim (with legit injuries) and neither other driver's insurer nor my own UM insurer did anything remotely helpful and made me squeeze every last penny out for my meds.

Yep, and if you get sued you can't bring up that the Democrat suing you has sued 50 other people for stupid reasons.

You are so wrong, it's not even funny. Also, nice veiled racism.
