In the late 70’s/early 80’s he was my grandfather’s neighbor in new metry by the lake. Grandpa moved out in about ‘84, don’t know how long Carlos stayed there after that.

I doubt the recipients noticed or cared if they did. If they noticed and understood it, they’d probably say what I say when I see medical bills and insurance payments “huh that’s ridiculous” - and that can mean the amount billed was crazy or the amount paid is crazy or both.

Yep, I once shot in a crowded hotel parking lot. Pulled up and had to shite so bad… I knew I had about 30 seconds once I stood up. Drove to the back of the lot and shite. My kids were horrified. I explained it’s better than in my pants.
One time I had to shite horribly bad. Made it home, race-clinch walked and got to the bathroom. Flipped the seat up, yanked my pants and sat all in one fluid graceful motion. Except the lid bounced back down, so I landed on the lid as I shot liquid shite out my arse. Spent a while cleaning it up. Was hilarious and disgusting. Two days later my wife “I think there’s shite on the wall” me “that’s weird”

This. I pass there every day, in traffic. Rarely going more than 60. Stupid mother frickers still can’t accelerate and merge. I’ll let off the gas, but usually the idiot has shite for timing (and brains) and slows down too. I’m not stopping on the fricking interstate. How hard is it to hit the gas and be ready to slow down or speed up more as necessary?

Floyd in ‘94 - it was high school graduation. I begged to go but parents wouldn’t cave and let me skip graduation.
Petty - missed countless opportunities.
Bob Weir, the Wolf Bros and the orchestra at the Saenger is the most recent regret.

That Campground Band Saenger show was incredible.
It’s between that and Ratdog at HoB in 2003(?) for me. So close and intimate.
So glad I got to see him and that he had his time here and spent it the way he did.

Im trying to simply be grateful for the times I saw him and what he gave me… the soundtrack to my life, the musical hugs I needed when I was down, the spring day windows down grooves when I was up, the soft chords playing in the background when my brother exhaled his last breath a few months ago, and everything in between.
I’m happy that he came along for my ride, and happy for the times I saw him in small places, up close - the HoB, Saenger and Fillmore.
The man was a rock n roll warrior…Shadow boxing the apocalypse and wondering the land.

Same. Kids are getting older, oldest in college, a lifetime in the past in the blink of an eye. First Christmas without my brother, adding him to all the others I miss dearly.

no. but I am good friends with two coaches that do that. I can't stand it, personally
I’ve had kids swimming for about the past 8 years. Couple years ago, the whistler was absent for the first two meets. I had always assumed it was a kid. And assumed he graduated and was quite happy. Then he came back. Figured out last year it’s a coach. It’s very obnoxious.
In the event you’re my kids’ coach, thanks for being an awesome coach. If you’re not, still thanks. 30 years is a long run and our kids coaches make good impacts on their lives.

Are you the coach that whistles shrilly in time with the kids’s swimming?

The ventilation totally sucks. And they very much check bags. You can’t leave and come back. The jambalaya is good but like all sports events, especially the ones that don’t allow food, there aren’t any healthy options for the athletes. It’s an overall shite place for this to be held.
re: Launching a bay boat solo - tips?
Posted by BrotherEsau on 11/16/25 at 11:03 am to Neauxla
I start the backdown, before the water I give my strap about 2-3’ of slack (make sure to lock the winch). Back down very slowly and very close to the dock. Once floating, the strap should give it enough room to clear the bow roller and float back, but stays between my guideposts. Set the break, hop out, step from dock to boat, lean over bow and unhook, go park boat then go park truck.
It’s really not hard, and I do it solo but also when with people that are incapable of helping for whatever reason.
I’ve tried the bow line tied to trailer, but I like using the winch strap, it keeps the boat in a little more control. The time I tried the bow line, it came off a bit too quickly, went a bit sideways and broke a guidepost.

I have an Expedition Max for 5 years now. 90k miles. No real issues with it. Plenty of space, no need to use the roof rack or hitch rack which is a huge plus.
But the Suburban and Yukon XL are now slightly longer. And I will say that although I didn’t like the suburban seat ergonomics when I was buying, every time I ride in a suburban or Yukon I feel like it is much nicer than my expedition in terms of ride/comfort.

Yeah here too.
Like everyone else said - the truth and let them be there. When I was 10 someone shot my cat, and we had to bring her in. I was very glad to be there for him as they gave him the shot. 10 years later, my dad brought our dog in and didn’t tell me until after. I was pretty upset about that.

Man I cry without looking at anything sometimes. All I have to do is think about it.
When I’m with my youngest and we see little kids she always says “don’t cry , it’s ok”.

This is an interesting read, based on the statements on the cop that drove the budget truck to the bridge. The ultimate reason why shots were fired is that some cops snapped and lost their shite.
