I think it's relevant. I'd like to know his explanation. He's getting paid to be a member of Congress and part of that is to be in DC for votes.
There may be a perfectly good explanation for it. But I don't think we can pretend it doesn't matter.

Vitter didn't lose because he didn't act like a doofus on the campaign trail, though.
Right.
His policy platform was a strength of his and worth voting for.
However, Vitter did damn near everything else he possibly could do to lose the election. He earned the loss and he has only himself to blame for that. Especially when he didn't anticipate the threat that JBE would pose and let him sneak into the runoff without so much as a single mailer, tweet or ad spot against him. That's infuriating political incompetence and malpractice. Shame on him.
It was a sneak preview of Hillary Clinton 2016.
But lets not pretend Vitter didn't have help making sure he had no chance of consolidating the conservative base in the runoff. Two ankle biter RINOs went scorched fricking Earth on a GOP front runner they had no chance of beating and still lost anyway. All they did was completely crack up conservative unity in the runoff and give us four years of the political twin of Edwin Edwards.

As an educated Louisianan, Rispone's commercial is cringeworthy to me. I know that it'll work to rally the masses that love everything he says in the commercial but the majority of those things are not what a governor would be doing.
My problem is that NONE of the ads that have been released by Rispone or Abraham seem to be chasing the middle ground where they need to find the support to win.

Sounds like the reason we elected Jindal

Vitter had the most detailed policy platform I've ever seen from a gubernatorial candidate in Louisiana. He was that much of a wonk. He had proposals for every issue under the sun on his website. It was quite impressive really.
There was his problem...too much thinking and reading, along with being a shitty retail candidate. Plus he is weasel of a person. In my mind screwing around on his wife was one of the few affirmative manly actions he has ever done... ever met his wife? Chew up steal and spit out nails. I never blamed him for screwing prostitutes ,it was self defense .

He may be the best option, but that commercial was turrrrrrrible! It is actually worse than the Rispone commercials, and I didn't think that was possible.
Spending 2 million on that crap sandwich doesn't inspire confidence in his economic mindset at all. If he is willing to blow that kind of money on this, it makes me wonder how he would spend state funds. Don't get me wrong, Imelda Marcos would budget better than Govnuh Honor Code, but man it looks like our choices are weaker than originally thought.

Rispone sounds like a crazy uncle. I hope Abraham is better.

The commercial like Rispone’s initial commercials is just an introduction.
It catches the eye and tells you something about the man.
There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s a good first start.

Has our vote too! Met him at a small fundraiser and liked what he represented! Donated to the cause and would recommend to everyone to vote for him!

I only see JBE's people parroting this line of attack towards Abraham. It's a silly attack that's not going to work and besides, the house is democrat controlled so his participation is irrelevant.
So he should not show up to do the job he was elected to do, because its a dam controlled house?
Now that is a dumb statement. A real leader shows up every day, and puts in the work he was elected to do. If that is how he acts now, how will he act a Governor?

You mean like JBE throwing footballs with the Saints yesterday? Gimme a break.

There is no middle ground. JBE got elected by the state democrats and the republican traitors. JBE pretty much broke every promise to the republican traitors that he made. There is no reason to expect the republican traitors to stay traitors this election cycle since neither candidate has gotten caught screwing a hooker. JBE is topping out at 45% in a matchup vs Abraham and this is polls released prior to Abraham doing much campaigning.
The only way that JBE wins is if another Katrina strikes and he handles it well or if the republican traitors are too stupid to fix their mistake.

He answered that question at one of the fundraisers that I went to. Abraham owns his own plane. He can do his work in DC and then get on his own plane and fly himself back to La in about 5 hours.
quote:LINK
Louisiana Congressman Ralph Abraham doesn't like the uncertainty and inconvenience of commercial air travel. So Abraham, R-Alto, occasionally commutes to his Washington, D.C., job on his own plane, a sleek red and white Cirrus SR 20 that can zip through the sky about 165 miles per hour.
So he can vote, go to committee meetings, etc and then fly his own plane back to Louisiana. He also uses his plane to transport poor patients from his district to St. Jude or the Texas Medical Center.

Based on these two candidates campaign ads it is safe to say JBE is sitting pretty for a second term. I blame the republicans for not putting a quality candidate up who doesn’t sound and look like a backwater Ross Perot (ie Rispone) or someone whose commercial is nothing more than a Amazon purchased fighter jacket.
Is there a third party running?
