They have the regular grocery stores like Publix, Super Wally, etc. They also have a couple of smaller, odd, family owned grocery stores with good meat prices, and they are friendly.

There is another odd store called Ollies something or other. They buy discontinued stuff and sell it. You can find good prices on something you like in there.

Buy a small boat. There a millions of places to fish within spitting distance.

Watch the rockets take off. If you can catch one early in the morning before the sun comes up, it gets up about a mile, then catches the sunlight over the horizon. It is an awesome site.

Don't ever refer to Cocoa Beach as Cocoa to the locals. They hate that. Cocoa beach is kind of nasty. It smells like piss and the patrons are from the trailer parks.

I’d get a small bay boat and just poke around fishing and hitting bars and restaurants in the area.

Get the early bird special and eat dinner at 5 pm with all the blue hairs, then get up at 4:15 am to drink coffee with all the retired guys at McD’s. You are in for a blast.

Beach side grand prix is pretty awesome if you have kids... or have buddies you enjoy being a kid around. My brothers and I have been getting kicked off the go kart course for close to 2.5 decades.

Fishing on the Indian river ain't terrible, if you know where you're going. Sucks the power plant got taken down a few years back, it was like hunting over bait in the winter time.

My grandparents came to titusville with the rocket crowd in the mid 60s. Not my favorite part of Florida, but totally doable. They lived on a golf course that was a Canadian PGA tour stop. Their neighborhood was littered with snow birds from north of the border.

Florida Man Misses Louisiana

That's another typical, screwed up Florida Man headline.

Or a small party barge. He would make friends pretty quick with that.

No shite.

I do it every once in a while around town because I say Cocoa to my friends in quick texts when they’re asking where I am.

Locals do NOT like it.

Also this might be a great time to get into kayak fishing if buying a boat isn’t on the menu.

It’s a GREAT area for it.

Nah man there’s plenty of good reasons to miss Louisiana from time to time.

Not enough reasons to move back, but certainly reasons to miss it.
