I finally broke down after reading this thread and had one of these mythical sandwiches last night. Best chicken sandwich I've had in years. Fried perfectly, bun was just right, and a great value. Wendy's classic chicken sandwich was my go-to for years until they changed their recipes about five years ago...now utterly pedestrian. Reminds me of the love I had for Brewbachers chicken breast on a bun with bacon during the late 80's. Damn solid.

Are these only available in NOLA and BR? I haven't seen anything about a sandwich at any of the Popeye's here in Lake Charles but I'd really like to try one of those sandwiches. All that's being advertised are some double dip boneless wing things.

New Popeye's getting ready to open on O'Neal Lane/I-12 in front of movie theater. Guess the existing one in front of Wal-Mart will shut down soon.

Went with the kid last night to Burbank location. I'm a huge Popeye's lover but this sandwich, while good, had too much breading and wasn't seasoned. It felt like fried overload and I realized that although I love their regular chicken, I prefer the CHickfila sandwich. Start the downvotes.

Did you get spicy or regular? Im gonna try another today for lunch, cause I want to make sure I wasnt just super hungry when I ate it Friday, but it shite all over Chick Fil A sandwich IMO.

I actually saw a commercial for them on TV the other day, in New Orleans. They're still not being promoted on the website, however.

Like someone mentioned, the national rollout will be in August. If your Popeyes doesn’t have it yet they will. There’s only like 8 areas who have it
