Would you rather always be good with no titles, or consistently mediocre but have titles?

This thread is loosely based on Mike Martin at Florida State, who ran a tremendous baseball program for 40 years but obviously could never win it all.

As a loyal fan of a sports team, which would you choose?

- Always have a really good team, win a ton of games, postseason play every year, but have zero championships.

- Be mediocre/bad most seasons, but have a couple years of unprecedented success and title runs. The titles are recent enough to still be relevant

I’d have one football title and wouldn’t care if our team got the death penalty after that

Just gimme that one time

No titles or titles?

What’s the point of this thread, again?

Something in between. Give me a title every 20 years and very good teams in between.

Titles. Braves winning it all in the mid 90s still scratches that itch. We could be the Indians

Rings, brah!!

It's a tease to be really good, and not have anything to show for it, having to rely on moral victories to justify your fandom... ask any Rockets fan...

Depends on the sport. For baseball, I would much rather be a fan of the Dodgers for the past 25 years than the Marlins. Being a fan of a baseball team that is terrible for an extended period of time is demoralizing. Now for other sports like football and basketball, I would rather have the titles.

I’d rather be bad most seasons with titles on rare occasions than always be good with no titles.
