I once asked someone high up at a pretty popular brand why they didn't make more shorts with reasonable (6-7inch) inseams and she said "We can't make them long enough for the west coast or short enough for the southeast."

The next civil war will be over short length and not being able to find non-structured/flatbill hats

Shorts that long either signs that you've been on probation at some point in life or you're fat and have completely given up on appearing attractive.

To me there is just no way to make shorts to your shins look normal.

That said, I know professional, well-liked, non-felon guys in California who are like 35 and wear those shorts with flat bill caps on the weekend. You look like an overgrown 12 year old skateboarder, but apparently it's just a totally different cultural norm because nobody thinks twice.

I've seen the same thing during the summer in Boston, just with Patriots/Bruins/Red Sox gear accompanying the other high school appropriate clothes.

I wouldn't, but those are a little short. I'm 5'9" makes sense for me to wear a 7" inseam, he looks about 6'2" judging from where they land on his legs. Maybe it's because they are so damn tight I dunno, but a little short to me.

But I do agree, fricking to the knee looks retarded. minimum 3" above the top of the knee.

Do you live in the South? What do you wear? I wear shorts year round. I wear them unless I'm at work or going to church or dinner or something. When it's cold I throw on a sweatshirt.

I don't wear jeans. Hate em.
