And a lot of those shiney assets are about to expire. Two of their extra draft picks are this year, leaving only the Memphis pick along with their own in future years. Browns up for a big extension next year. If Tatum has another ho-hum year then the shine will be off of him as a potential franchise player. So unless they think Tatum/Brown/Smart and cap space to attract another top FA (unless Hayward returns to form) if enough to compete for a title then the time to strike for them is now IMO.

Incarcerated Bob is saying that DLo has let it be known he would want to play for the Knicks or Celtics if Nets sign Kyrie.

That would be interesting for Boston.

It would be good for our trade prospects either way. Boston and New York would both be courting him and wanting to put another star next to him.

But Ainge knows AD isn't a LeBron/Harden/Kawhi/Durant level player.

Ainge knows AD plus what's left after trading tatum, brown / smart and filler isn't getting it done.

Does that hurt or help us with regards to an AD trade? DLo is young and fits, timeline wise, with Tatum and Brown.

Can Boston afford Russel without us taking back smart AND Hayward?

Unfortunately IB is a fraud. But if DLO did let it be known he wanted to play for Boston that would certainly be helpful.

I would think that would make them feel better about trading for AD, if they thought they could replace Kyrie with another all-star level PG to pair with AD.

If this BS rich Paul pulls ends up costing us Tatum, no way in hell im trading AD to the Lakers just on principle. I start looking at knicks or clipper deals. It will screw over LeBron making them punt another year or possibly make another power team in the east for Boston to compete with....

Crewz mentioned that when you aren’t hearing any leaks, that’s when the real negotiations are going on.

He has a point. This is the calm before the storm

Just read some of Lakers reddit. They are setting themselves up for an epic meltdown. It’s going to be glorious.

Arye Abraham, a good friend and reliable source, gave me an inside scoop into the Lakers-AD trade sweepstakes. According to Abraham, the Lakers are more desperate than many make them out to be in trying to acquire Anthony Davis.

Reports have come out about how a Lakers-Pelicans trade is contingent on Kyle Kuzma being involved, but as anticipated, this was reported by Abraham to be a negotiation tactic from the Lakers side. He went on to mention that LA is keeping all trade talks as low-key and hidden from the public as possible, realizing a lack of disclosure during Davis trade talks before the trade deadline hurt the team.

I want to believe this but, at this point, there is so much bullshite everywhere.

Logic suggests that the Lakers are desperate for AD because the Lakers are not a favorite for any FAs, or high on the radar for most, meaning it is pretty much AD or bust.

What's funny is that "all the leaks are coming from the pelicans side" but then we have a Lakers insider telling this author of the article their negotiation strategy.
