Agreed.
LeBron hates coaches who actually coach, so another star telling him he is being fricking lazy will go over horribly.

How about the most bully ball lineup of all time:
Marcus Smart/FvF/Stanley Johnson/Zion/Randle
??

I would like to go on record and say that the deal will be done on Sunday. No insider info but feel like most big deals on announced on Sunday afternoon.

Best shooting team possible around Zion:
Seth Curry/Buddy Hield/Gallanari/Zion/Myles Turner
Go get er done Griff!

I want the trade done by Tuesday no matter what.
If Boston won't give up Tatum, then i'd rather take Hayward/Brown/Memphis Pick/14/20/22 for AD/Solo.Then use 2 of those first round picks to pick up another player, sending Moore out.
If Ainge balks at any of the picks, tell him to get bent and go take a Lakers deal.
I have a feeling Griffin wants Ball for some stupid reason, but I absolutely do not. If we can get #6 or next years first from Phoenix, with Ingram and #4, and future Lakers first, I'd still lean towards Tatumless Boston but wouldn't be upset with that Lakers trade.
I think if we did a Lakers trade and got #4 and #6, we could make a run at Gary Harris. Denver probably wants to keep Milsap again so they wouldn't mind saving some money, and with Beasley and Morris playing well, and having Murray and Barton already in the small backcourt with Harris, they might be open to the #4 and Moore. They get a high draft pick, and a better 3 point shooter, although not as good as offensive player, but that allows Murray and Jokic to be the focal point of the offense even more.
That would be two young players, not all-stars, but somewhat close to it, #6 pick, and the future Lakers pick. pretty close to what Griffin outlined.

Ball would be awesome, Griff ain’t stupid. Ball might be the best player to pair with Zion in the entire league!
Posted on 6/15/19 at 2:16 pm to Dogstar
I respectfully strongly disagree.

Yeah, nothing you want to pair your around-the-rim player that is going to struggle from the outside early in his career than a guy that can’t shoot.
What better way to help develop Zion than putting guys around him that the defense can ignore to double him with.

I think we all are overanalyzing what's happening, which tends to happen when things don't go as quick as you want them too. Griffin's probably told the Celtics exactly what he wants and that's Tatum, Smart or Brown and 2 picks. The Celtics want to wait to see how much bite they get in FA. So Griffin is giving them until right before the draft. The Lakers have their offer out there, #4, Ball, Ingram and Kuzma. They won't back down from that no matter what leverage Laker fans think they have. I'm sure we told LAL that we'd let them know by Tue/Wed if we accept their offer. Everything else is just posturing

How did so many players thrive with Kidd for all those years when he was a horrible shooter?
Posted on 6/15/19 at 2:38 pm to brmark70816
You mean in the mid 90’s through the early 2000’s when three point shooting was not a must have feature?
But my contention with Ball is not that it can’t work at all, but that it is somehow the ideal fit.
What makes Ball additionally problematic is he would be slotted next to Jrue and Zion, and come with Ingram most likely. That sets up four of your five starters that aren’t reliable jump shooters and operate in mostly the same space. That’s like negative synergy. Where instead of players offsetting weaknesses and magnifying strengths, you’re talking about lineups that magnify weaknesses and reduce strengths.

The league has completely changed. Drastically. Those teams wouldn’t win 35 games today.

I never thought the 2000s would be too long ago to refernce. So how about Rondo? He seemed to be pretty effective and can't shoot that well.
My main point is PGs aren't shooters. They run the show and are distributors..

Steph Curry can’t shoot? Chris Paul? Even Kyle Lowry shoots at least relatively well.
Guys get by. But the most effective current teams out side of Simmons mostly have Guards and Wings that can shoot or score efficiently.

The Nets teams of the early 2000s that went to back to back Finals, if they played exactly the same without adaptation would get murdered.
The league has moved on. The rules and style of play has changed so dramatically based on analytics. Those championship Pistons teams wouldn’t do much either.
The league changes. Early 2000s basketball might be the darkest time in basketball history.
